I just saw an add for 8meg broadband on T.V for just £29.99 from someone called uk online, so i tracked it down http://www.ukonline.net/broadband/broadband8000.php

Anyone got it? I want it

goddamn that sounds wicked

I used to have 3meg telewest before I moved which was nice, here I'm restricted to 1mb, and it's from BT - who are just shit...their broadband really is fucking awful.

USB cable modems....bah :(

I could really do with getting a BT line installed so I can look at an alternative ISP. With NTL at the moment and although the service is ok, for some reason I can have the same IP address as someone living in another area of Bolton. Hence if you get someone from within the same region who's been banned from a TGP for whatever reason, the TGP owner blocks the IP address and bang goes my ability to submit. Bit of a pisser really.

the best I can get in my area is 2meg, 8meg is some serious speed.

I am in the backwaters of Poland and have a 2mb line and a 2mb line back up with another company. Never had any problems with broken uploads or downloads -
But, I can remember just 10 years ago paying about 500Dollars a month for a conection that took several hours to apload a one meg file.

I had a dialup account with ukonline for ages and they were top notch. You could always get a connection in peak times whereas the Freeserves et al used to blow right out. Whilst that doesnt have any implication on their ADSL, it certainly left me with a good impression of them as a company.
