:banghead:
Great, he has taken a shit team to 13th in the Premiership and got lucky in the two bob cup!
It was only a couple of months ago he was tipped for the sack at Boro,
What was wrong with pursuing Wenger? Waiting for him would of been worth it.
Id have big Sam rather than Mclaren, he doesnt know how to handle the players. :banghead:

Wenger has a good job, why would he take a backwards step

LMFAO I wonder if they are dusting out the cup cabinet at Wembly? Oh no, of course, Wembly is still a building site. The home of football. lol

For someone who is able to remember watching the 1966 World Cup Final you really cant help but laugh.

Taken from bbc news site...

Eriksson has not said who he thinks should get the job - but praised McClaren's methodical approach in his role in the England coaching set-up.

"I think he has always been very curious about what is happening and what is new in football, Pro-zone and things like that" Eriksson said.

"He is very aware of developments and he is reading a lot of football books by manager, coaches and things like that. He is clever, he is very good."

We are going to clean up now!! Mclaren has been reading lots of books! :Penis

Suppose you are right there, but you would like to think that the England job is the biggest going.............

Whats next? Peter Crouch for captain? lmao

The FA were too weak not to do what the press wanted and the press want McClaren because he will make another whipping boy.

Very true, but its a backward step from Sven! way back!
Ok the guy was a sucker for the press and his private life, but he never eally did us wrong, even though we one nothing our results were not too bad.
Mclarens best player hasslebank..... he wanted rid of him in january!
Id be suprised if he lasts the 4 years.........

4 months more like

hope the press are happy they have got what they wanted an English England manager...

doesnt matter there is no decent ones

now we will have to put up with his private life all over the papers in the run up to the first world cup ever we stood a chance of winning

I don't know why the hell they want to write about svens/mclarens private lives! I for one couldnt give a monkeys what they do off field? who else really gives a shit? but it makes front page news!!!??
Sportmen/women and mangers should stay where they belong, on the back pages with the results!
The press moan when results dont go our way, but they never help them as all they do is unsettle the team!
If the papers gave a shit about us winning why would they do a sting on the manager in world cup year!

Newspapers only give a shit about selling newspapers.

No one can seriously want this job though, our press destroy who ever does it and lets face facts our soccer team is really second rate.

The biggest downside is that he will just carry on from where we are now so we are unlikely to see new ideas of fresh blood in the team, Beckham will be playing regaurdless of how unfit he is etc.

The whole thing is egg on the FA's faces,
They had to make a quick appointment after Scolari said no, as it was a huge embarassment to them after they had thought they had got there 'man'
On team sheet we have a top team, a world class team.
Its just a petty we cant get the right manager to sort them out.
Prima donnas is the word I think

I say claudio ranieri should manage england
before chelski /monino, he was the chelsea manager.
I went to OT and watched chelsea beat us 3-0 in 2001 (from memory), he is the guy who started the chelsea thing with nowhere near as much money as monino has available.
my second choice is mark hughes. he performed miracles at wales and has taken a very average blackburn side to UEFA cup qualification this season
third choice, well, the player manager thing I posted about before, terry or lampard.

Id have disagree with you on Ranieri didnt he get sacked by Valencia not long ago? He did ok at Chelsea but he still spent quite alot of money (ok he did not have the amount they have now) ie 12million haaslebank,10 million lampard? Plus he can hardly speak English!
And to say Terry or Lampard as player managers is just suicidal!!
No coaching experience! Im suprised sir clive woodward didnt apply! pmsl

Yeah I remember it too.... crowded around the black and white TV, curtains drawn......

Maybe they should go back to broadcasting in black and white (or HD black and white in your case SGS) because McLaren is a very grey person....

Great to see the new England manager is crack on form!
Plays 4 forwards when only 1 goal down at half time!
Least he wont have that problem for england... do we have 4 forwards! lol
(peter crouch is exempt!)
