Look.

XXX domains will never take off. Its way too late in the day.

Everytime there is a step forward to starting them, there will be a step back at the same time.

After all, what are they going to do, force adult sites to go onto .xxx domains? And if they do, how will they define what is and what is not porn.

And surly people will just redirect their .com names to the .xxx, so what is the point.

yea I think this is what they are heading for and it would be a massive pain in the arse for us and we would have to pay a lot more for new .xxx domains I bet

There is way to much monet for these people to give in. I'm no where near as sure it wont take off now, especially with freedom of speech and adult layers jumping on the band wagon.

I think you are burying your head in the sand to think that because its not a good idea it wont happen. There is many pennies at stake and alot of people are going to try and push it through

I have been in adult a while and every 1 1/2 years or so there is a big *scare* everyone goes on like "the sky is falling down!!", the end of net porn etc: CDA1, VISA regs, obscenity crackdowns, CDA2, Acacia, 2257 and probly some I forgot about and this is the only one I am botherred enough by to want to do something about it.

If they get .xxx for sure after a while some brightspark in the US govt will make all porno sites use them (and US countrols .com,.net etc basically and we all host in US). Its like ken livingstone and his "congestion charge cameras won't be used for anything else" ok so now they linked them all up so they can spy on your wherever you drive great.

So really some years down the line you will have to move sites maybe lose domains and pay these pricks probly a load of money for shit .xxx domains. .XXX won't really help much the people behind it just want to make money and they will probly give us shit domain service like NSI did if you remember the days when they were the monopoly on .com etc and $70 a domain!

I know how to get round .xxx I just don't want to have to and I don't want to have to and I don't need the extra grief it will cause

Its been going on too long now.

It reminds me of the months and months of that silly legal thing about sites having to pay a fee if they have films on there sites. It just fizzaled out.

Even if they managed to get around to .xxx. Even if they desided to force sites to go onto .xxx, there would be years of legal aruments.

Its just too late in the day. 10 years ago it would have been different, but its just too late to bring them out.

If it hapenes, it happens.

The big firms will be doing legal stuff for years.

All that will hapen is people will host in Canada or some other country.

And what about .co.uk and .eu names. These are not owned by USA firms, and have nothing to do with the USA. Thus more problems.

Its just too complecated.

It will go on for years and years.

Got to be honest, I am more conserened that a comet will hit earth than .xxx domains.

where do you host ? USA? I don't want to have to move 12 servers to europe and switch all my domains to .co.uk because someone wants to make money out of .xxx

It aint going to happen.

Forget about it.

Just let all those big usa firms fight it out in the courts for the next 10 years till it just fizzes out.

Heck, in 10 years we may not even be using domain names, as we may have moved on to somthing new by then.

Its all just a lot of fiz that will burn itself out.

At the end of the day, whats the point of worring. Worry if it happens. As I say, we could all be dead with bird flu before they bring in .xxx names.

Trust me, there are too many people upset over this. So why bother getting involved. Just sit back, put your feet up and enjoy the sun.

Heck, it was not that long ago they said that we were going to use $%^&* in domain names. Never happened, it just fized out.

I find that these days most things are just fizz.

If you choose to worry about it, then its up to you.

For me, untill it hapens, I care not a trot.

Heck, more chance of a plane crashing into my house.

You don't get it now is a comment stage you can post your views on .XXX before they decide again, if they decide in favour then it will probably go to legal battle but I don't think big firms will resist so much, I am not worried I just don't want it to happen else its gonna be a pain in the arse in 5-10 years you will see.

If .xxx happens then sooner or later US govt will make it mandatory I am sure. If we were forced into .xxx domains then ISP's could block us entirely or even charge subscribers for access, the possibilities are really not good.

So whats the point of worring????

Its just polotics.

I have heard lots of things that are going to happen on the net. Guess what. Never does.

Not long ago one firm said they were going to start 3D porn on the net. They never did.

Untill somthing hapens, its just words.

Go into any big firm, and I bet there are styories going about, about the latest big thing.

Look, .xxx is not going to start this week, probably not this year. It will be probably be years.

Then there will be months of moaning about who can have what .xxx name.

Then the USA goverment may sugest forcing all porn onto .xxx.

That will take years. Then there will be lawsuits.

By then, I will probably have retired.

Its just a lot of silly people getting excited over the latest thing.

Seen it too many times on the net.

Worrying isnt the same as being aware and protecting your business. I gues its a case of if you see this as a long term business or a hobby
