We used to use virtual dub to chop up vids. You can set it to take every 5th fram or whatever. Pretty simple.

Premier. Export movie and set to "Tiff Sequence" - frame rate 1 - that'll take a shot every second

Yup, convert to jpeg, or use a mass converter like thumbs plus - which is wot I does. Save as TIFF sequence, rather than BMP sequence though - you'll get more pretty colours :)

dont seem to have a tiff sequence option on pro 1.5 or 2
can you save less than every second as thats a bit too many images to sort through

I'm using an older version of pro maybe - and the only way I know of taking less than 1 per second is to manually shuffle through the movie and do an export frame
