Was reading in the Sunday Times yesterday, that the dollar is set to plummet again..... It was at $1.82 to the pound last Friday..... and they're forecasting $2 to the pound soon...

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?????

Interested in your opinions on here....

For me it is bad. Even although I pay out for hosting and services and the like in US$, the money I will save there in no way compensates for the loss I will make on income.

I would think a lot of us here are in the same boat, no??

Maybe it is time to consider a US$ account with a bank and try and ride the storm.

Did you read it in the newspaper or was it online?

it was nigh on $1.96 to the pound sometime last year and everyone was suffering, stories about the $2 pound just days away, and then it cruumbled to c. $1.72/£1 within a few months. don't worry just yet!

Nah....surely it's the other way around. If you're in the UK getting paid US dollars for sign ups then it's bad because the dollar is weak and you get less pounds for them. This is the situation we are in at the moment because Bush managed to turn a budget surplus into a deficit and less people have faith in his handling of the US economy.

Yeah it's just over 1.82 now.

Like Scotty.T Said it's nice for buying but bollocks for earning, I'm paraphrasing slightly :)

I think england for webmasters is hard because the exchange rate is so bad and it looks like its gonna get worse and also England seems to be really expensive anyways.

It would be nice if there was a way to bill UK people 3rd party in £'s so you could set your membership at £19.95 / month or something for UK people and get that money in £'s

Strictly Broadband bills and pays out in Sterling, the currency of choice. :)

Webmasters earn about £1.65 per three-day movie rental, including all repeats. At $2 to a quid, that would mean $3.30 per rental to you (if you're still thinking in dollars). And as for conversions, pay-per-view knocks spots off memberships...

I speeeet on your puny dollar.
