While its clear that there is no real danger of contacting bird flu through cooked chicken and cooked eggs. There is a real danger that cats could contact it by eating wild birds. Thus a possibility that this could then be transferred to the owners.
There may also be a danger of bird flu being contacted by wild life that has a diet of wild birds.
Fortunately the cases of bird flu are still very low. Though in the next few months we will see migrating birds returning to the UK, at which point is the most dangerous time.
