We now are getting rid of boxes of VHS movies.....
As they are now not worth the postage...
where do you dispose of good VHS movies...???
Charity shops.
Some hospices will be grateful for them as well.
Just been through much the same exercise here.

Charity shops....good idea...not sure hospices will want our Vid collection though.... :)
I keep meaning to do something about my mini-mountain of VHS tapes. I have a shedload of movie magazines as well. Might stick an ad somewhere offering them to some movie enthusiast as long as they can collect them.

your welcome to them all
your welcome to them all
I prefer video over DVD, although I did just buy a DVD player, well a DVD VHS Combi :lmao2:
How many do you have?
Sticking them all on eBay would be a pain in the arse, not worth the effort. If someone wants them, they'll have to take the lot :)

I havent coounted but the kids are filtering them now into 3 piles...
pile one is BIN, two is copy to digital (home movies etc) and three is list and buy on DVD so expecting a huge hit on credit card via amazon
i will pm you a list if you want to pay postage on ones you want
Know what you mean about preference to DVD as quality can be good on VHS...I still prefer Vinyl to CD for top quality

Ok cheers.
I have videos that are 20 years old and I can still watch them, DVD's last about 5 minutes, especially with kids. I have repaired stacks of VHS tapes but when a DVD breaks it breaks, and they scratch far too easily :geezer:

We used to sell amateur videos on Betamax. Used to have a VHS/Betamax option on the order forms. :)

Betamax was actually better quality than VHS
VHS only became the dominant player in the game because Granada the major rental company at the time owned Ferguson who was the major machine producer... or the other way round i cant remember... but that was back in the day when more people rented machines (In UK) than bought them outright.
elsewhere in the world it was Matsushita (Panasonic/Technics) V Sony
If Sony had been as powerfull as they are now things would have been very different...
remember U-matic ??? The pro's choice :lmao2:
