I have a 40 min film clip, in wmv format.
What simple softwear is there to split it up into small files that can be put together later by the surfer?

If you haven't got Vegas or similar - Try the windows default movie maker (on 2000 and above. I think)

A while back I saw a small program that cut up a big file into little bits. You then use the prog to glue them back again.

I really recommend EZ Video Splitter...
Sony Vegas is a great program but very complicated and a drain on system resources.
If all you want to do is chop up your .wmv - go here..

I use this every day for chopping up movies and it does its job brilliantly :p

Hi
I tried to download the first prog, but it did not open.
I loaded EZ Video Splitter. Seems good. But it crashed a few times. I am using it on the 5 day trial. Not sure if I will buy it as not impresed that it crashed. But for free I will use it.
