I have a porn torrent site with 66k members registered. hits range from 5k to 7k per day.It contains no copyrighted material, as the videos are all home made movies. how do i figure out how much this is worth? I need the cash from selling it as i now want to run a swingers site instead :)

It makes no difference as legally you can't sell it if it's submitted or not.

The revenue varies from month to month...

average about £500

Was higher when i had more time to spend on the site...Some one with a bit more experience of marketing than me could do very well, because the traffic and member base is there.

How do you know the content they are submitting/sharing is theirs to submit? just curious how the site works always felt those type of sites would be more hassle than they where worth to run.

How does it make money? is this from sponser links or do members have to pay to join?

The big problem I would have is if somone posts illigal stuff such as cp, or music.

These days music firms seem to be coming down hard on such sites.

You cannot be 100% sure it's thier content to submit, (same with all of the amateur submit sites on the net) but they do electronically sign a licence agreement saying they are legally responsible for thier post's and they will not post anything they do not have the legal rights to.

In 1 year we have had 1 request to remove a photo collection, which after checking didn't even exist because the person got the wrong site.

It is a popular site with the potential to grew huge if someone had the marketing expertise.

The site makes money through adult friendfinder, and other pay porn sites banners and links to fhg. about 8 months ago when i didn't have other commitments, i could top £1000 per month.

The system we have in place is that members who want to upload have to apply to upload usually by pm an admin or posting in the forums. Once they have agreed to the uploading rules (which include, no content featuring under 21's, and every post must have a visible screenshot to name a few) they can then upload. Fortunatly we have never had to deal with a member posting cp. we have had a few member who have uploaded videos that were copyrighted to porn sites, but these are quickly removed by either the mods, staff or system ops. With a good volunteer run staff team the copyrighted stuff that gets occasionally posted is very quickly removed and the uploader warned or banned.

A few sites have started a thing where members pay a monthly, or yearly fee to get access, and they have took off.
The benefits to the owner is, he dosent need terabits of space to hold the movies, because they are hosted on the members computer. He dosent need to pay for terabytes of bandwdith because it is shared betwean the members pc's.

The site has been going for a year now, in that time we have changed the script a few times due to limitations with the other scripts. Also we changed after about the first 3 months

Put on a members access (even if its a $1 a month) and I am sure it would make a lot of money.

Or if you used it as a free site to your own paysite again good money.

It6 just needs a bit of imajination, and somone with a bit of technical know it all to do somthing hot with the site.

I have to say, having had an amateur site in the past featuring me and the wife, we got really pissed off with your kind of site and were constantly requesting that our content be removed from them.
