But i find it interesting, how religion can have a go at porn, being gay, abortion and so on. Yet we cannot have a go at religion.
I have many friends who are Muslim. My best mate phoned me last night about this (who is Muslim), and he was telling me how this is going to get people killed and he was mad. I said, if they had simply ignored this cartoon, no one would know about it. Now because of the fuss the cartoons are being re-posted world wide.
Its like the Jerry Springer Opera. All the Christians kicked up such a fuss it became popular.
It reminds me of the Farther Ted episode where they demonstrate against the film.
But again why would I wish to offend people? If you had not noticed by most of my posts on the net, I enjoy winding up stupid people. No one with any intelligent would ever take me seriously. But boy, there are a lot of morans that get upset with me. I simply feed them.

Insulting people for internet hits and for your own amusement doesn't seem like a very sound reason to me. Freedom of speech is a powerful weapon, it's time some of us learnt to use it responsibly.

I think its much acting out violence over a cartoon is far worse than showing a pretty harmless cartoon.
You didnt see Chrsitans charging around setting fire to flags, kidnaping and beating people up when Monty Python bought out the life of Brian.
Seems any excuse with these extremists to do what ever they want and saying its OK becuase they were insulted just helps them justify the unjustifyable
I think Joe A had death threats against him and Sahara when they did a shoot in a sari or some such thing.

The picture was published 5 months ago. the danish pm appologised and so did several other people at the time it happened.
People burn flags all the time, I take offence at that any national flag should not touch the floor out of respect.
I think you're right. I think it's important we see the cartoons and bollocks to JT being concerned about getting his board hacked or his head kicked in.

It went off when we were in the Ch 4 documentary last April and because of Sahara's comments in Closer and the Sun at the same time announcing she was the first Muslim porn star, which she is't, as quite a few of the models I'd worked with before her were Muslims. My story on YNOT mentioned this and was published in Dec 2004, before hers :)
All the Muslim forums around the world picked up on her "Muslim" comments and threats were made just against her. One idiot even posted her address on a few of these forums. She was away at the time, so I called the police to watch her place till she returned. Thankfully nothing happened.
What pissed me off was a producer who'd just released a film with her, used this "Fatwar" for his own publicity, claiming he and the band who supplied the soundtrack had received threats, which I know they hadn't if I didn't receive them.. Thank god :)

Tricky one to argue - offending huge chunks of the population just for the sake of it is pretty idiotic.
If we lived in a perfect world we'd be able to say pretty much what we want about anybody/anything without fear of 'reprisal' - but we dont - deciding not to offend tens of millions of people doesnt mean you're running scared... :-/

On the one hand you have the muslim extremists "death to the UK and US" we are all sinners because we gay, have abotions, sex before marriage, women show more than their eyes, we dont wear turbans blah blah blah. Albeit that is their religion but they still mock us for it in their own way.

A few points.
Do you remeber the London bomings? Well you may recall that they were from Leeds. I sort of new some of them. I have good friends who are muslim, and we knew one or two who simply lost the plot. They had a warped view on there religion. The problem is that people do not chalage there views.
These cartoons chalange peoples thoughts and belifs. As such I seem them as a good thing.
An interesting point was made today. They said muslims got upset as they were being portrade as bombers and nutcases, so what did they do? They made death threats against the newspapers. Its actually quite amuzing.
For those who do not want to upset others, I tell you what, get the fuck out of porn. Its that simple.

I have been offended by others, but this alows me to challage my thoughts and alows me to think about new situations.
I do not worry about offending people. As I find often many people are stupid, and will take the bate. Often I simply print these out and show my old univerity class mates and lecturers. We chat about the response.
Heck, even my car creates offended people. I can often hear people scream at it. Most times people love it, but I have been called all sorts of names too.
To me most people in the UK are totall morans. Its why I do not care what they say, as I find them irelavent. Even my own family, I insult. Its up to them if they take it personaly or not.
Its one reason I do porn, simply to offend others.

I may have a whole family full of them but I dont talk to them theyre from down south dont see them...I know the girls didnt wear turbans but all the guys did-except the young ones tbhey were brought up in an english fasion rather than muslim...I dont really care what they were I just wish that people would start acting like real people. Obviously people say things that is going to offend someone hey just need to learn not to take offense....I know its hard, trust me on that one...but just gotta live with it. Some people dont mean anything by it at all! Its just fun to them but that doesnt make them bad people.

OK I didnt seem to explain that well. Muslims DONT wear Turbans. Muslim Ladies DONT wear Turbans, Muslim men DONT wear Turbans. Muslims NEVER wear turbans. Hindus wear Turbans, not Muslims. There are nearly 1 billion Hindus who wear Turbans and 2 billion Muslims who NEVER wear turbians.
If Asians dont know the difference how do they expect Europeans to know the difference :)

Both my graddads went to war, both were liberal, both belived in free speech.
I shall not be worried about offending anyone. I am not worried about being attact.
For me if I was going to edit my views to please others is the day Iwill have dishonered there names, and there friends who went to war as well. And all the people who fought in WWWII.

So I am going off line now.
By the way, also in Leeds you may have seen that nut from the national front or whatever it is he is in. Because we live in this silly lets be pc environment and take people to court that do not agree with things, he now is going to get huge support. If he had been ignored, he would have simply been some berk shouting drivel. Now even if he goes to court again and looses, he is going to get huge support, and more members. He is in a win/win situation.

Humor chalanges thought. As I said to my best mate (who is muslim), these cartoons will now be over the net because of the crazy nuts who are threatening people. They simply make muslims look like nut jobs, which in turn WILL create suport for national ftont and BNP. I would suspect that there will be now attacts on muslims as the white nuts will now have an excuse to attack muslims.
I am dyslecic and a vegitarian. I am quite happy for people to mock me. In fact I find that people lean more about dislexia this way.
When I went to college I had a mate who was in a wheelchaire. I used to rip him to shreads. I called him davros all the time.
The other students were shocked, untill they realised thought they were being nice to him, they were not friends with him. I treat him how I treat others. As such we were friends. After a while the others realised I was right and felt comfartable to also treat him as they treat there friends.
When I was a student nurse, I very much upset the univerity on day one as I (with all the students) given an a4 letter of what we could and could not say. An example was I could not call african countries 3rd world as it may offend somone. I stormed into the office and said, I was born in zambia. I have a zabian birth certificarte. I am proud of being born in zambia, what whiite english woman can tell me what i call my country of birth.
I also pointed out that if I had to be consiouly aware of what i say to somone (so i do not offend them) by definition I am not treating them as an equal, as i would not worry about what i say to those who i know. So by making me think about my words, I am treating them differently.
Some people think that if they are being PC that they by nature are more inteligent than others, giving them the right to dictate what people say.
Most people who are PC I find are totall idiets as they are simply going by what others say, with no ability to think for themselves.
I can never understand how somone who is white middle class, who cleary has only ever spoken to somone black for a split second, has the right to know what we should call them and so on.

Its not a suprise that the bnp is based in Leeds in a all white area thats very much run down. Without being rude I am living in this area of the UK and as such over the years have come to know the bnp and national friont tactects.
Though I am against the bnp, i do have bnp members who are friends (odly enough some even have asian frieds themselves).
