About twenty minutes ago our electricity cut off, our trip switch was fine and there was no apparent reason for the disconnection.

I called up Scottish Power and spoke to a lady about why I was cut off. She couldnt see any faults on the line and asked if I knew if any of my neighbours had been cut off, I didnt know and she told me she would get an engineer out.

Ok cool, I said but when. When he gets there was her reply and I though oh is that going to be today so I asked and the reply was oh it could be I put it through as an emergency. I was like wtf, I have an 8 month old baby how do I bath and feed her. It gets dark late how the hell am I supposed to take care of her in the dakr not to mention my fridge freezer, come tomorrow would have been defrosted.

Oh, she said well cant you get some hot water from a neighbour. I was like I shouldnt bloody have to I dont know my neighbours. I dont want to know my neighbours oh well she said I dont everything I could do thanks for calling Scottish Power.

I was fuming, then about ten mins later I get a knock at the door, it was from one of the neds up the stairs-his or her (couldnt quite tell) power wasnt working either.

Luckily enough the power to the street had been cut off by the guys building along the road and was just switched back on again.

But the fact of the matter is I could have been waiting over a day without an electricity or gas (my boiler is a combi so needs electricity to run). It is completely preposterous how can they expect you to do that I mean I was open to suggestions about how I get hot water for bottles without having an open fire on my sitting room rug..

Oh well at least it is back and my rant is now over.....

For hers it would, though I'm pretty sure most the other side of the wall, that would be thought of as upper class
