I ain't opened the ast one yet :)

By the way do you know how long you can keep it without it being affected?
Could I keep it for 8 years and it would still be ok?

Good question actually as I still have about a case and a half here. Tried to buy some more Cristal "gift boxes" a Christmas to send out and you couldnt get any anywhere due to demand.

I think that the side note when we ordered yours was "ready to drink now but will improve" if memory serves. :)

Yeah I would think it wouldn't matter. I mean they don't use special bottle for the 20 year old stuff, do they.

I wonder whether there is some technique they use or special bottling or something to get the older stuff, or is it just stuff they made 20 years ago but didn't sell. Just kept it so it would mature more.

I just think that some years are good almost straight away and some improve. I am no expert (hardly even drink) but I think that some sparkling wines can go past their best but it really depends upon the year and and the grape. :)

Im not sure about champaigne. Ive always been a red wine drinker. But contary to poular belief not all red wine gets better with age, many have a real drink by period. But even the really good ones when opened have to be drunk very quickly after opening otherwise its undrinkable and many times its gone bad anyway.

Ive never bought really really expensive wine, but had a few decent older bottles of chateaux nerf de pap which is what I really love, and they have all been excellent though.

Johny, if you put a banner up there promoting the 40,000 post thing so that it pulls more people to stick around here we will also throw in one of our SGS hampers too just to get their attention?
