Pretty much anything non meat. It's tough to find anything British here so when we get something 'special' we don't throw it out.
We have some unopened curry sauces that expired in 2006 and a Christmas Pud from 2005. We were going to have it this Christmas, but everyone was so stuffed we decided to keep it for the next one.
I'm irrationally obsessed with only eating things that are in-date.
The one exception is bread, which I'll happily eat as toast until it turns green.

I agree with Nottslad. Pretty much anything provided it looks / smells ok. Even meat though I also have thrown away meat thats in date because it just doesn't smell / look right

breads fine until you can see the mold, fruit and veg are fine as long as there not clearly mold ridden or gone smooshy apart from that nouthing

Fruit and veg is judged by its actual condition rather than a random date. Anything dairy or meat I stick strictly to the 'use by' date. Which is different than the 'sell by' date.
Labour are going to remove sell by dates and use by dates.
Only sensible thing they have done, if they manage to do it before they are booted out.
I never look or care about use by dates, I can see if something is off or not. The majority of the world have never seen a use by date and they dont pop their clogs when they eat a packet of Jaffa cakes that are a day out of date, and even the stupid British managed to live the last 10,000 years or so without them.
It always makes me laugh that a bag of crisps or a can of coke is perfectly edible at 11.59pm on one day and in 2 seconds later at 00.01am it cant be eaten.

I agree with Johnboy, anything that looks/ smells OK should be OK to eat. There are a few rare items that are OK even after they don't look/ smell OK. i.e. Cheese Blue Cheese is best when its not OK.

Doesn't blue cheese have a best after date?

I couldn't agree with you more!
Common sense should prevail. If something is obviously off you don't eat it but if its still OK then go for it.
