I'm going to Cyprus for a couple of weeks next month and I don't want to work *every* day of my holiday if I can avoid it. I seem to recall someone mentionning on this board that there's a script/software thingumy that you can set to publish to your blog on a daily basis. I want to input the fortnight's blog entries and let it take care of publishing the entries on the right day.

What's it called??

Yeah BO, is the bollocks, I don't mean having sweaty armpits, I mean the blog software :)

It really is the nuts Rosie, it's a piece of piss to set up and use and the price is sweet

I use Wordpress, so if I'm going away I write all my posts then change the publication date to a date in the future before I click publish, and then my posts magically appear when I'm not there for weeks, months, years ahead.

Now all I need is some software that saves me writing all that crap in the first place...

Anyway, the BO thing is cool too.

Love Cyprus - went there as a kid - you'll have a great time!

Awww man I just knew wordpress would have been the better option - but it involves setting up a script on your server and I'm allergic to scripts, they make me break out in a cold sweat and they never ever work for me.

I chose the easy option and went for Blogger published on my own domain :(

We never do scripts here (I even pay someone to press the send button on my email) but had Wordpress up and running in minutes. Its reall very easy and so many people use it you are always sure of getting plenty of help.

I swear to god every time I install a script that's really really easy and everyone can install, it crashes my computer and my server explodes.

It really is that easy :)

Plus, with the amount of people using Wordpress now why not just get your host to intsall it for you? Webair and Nat-Net are great like that :)

Do you have Fantastico on your server? That makes blog script installation dead easy - I reckon that even Joe A could manage it :lmao2:

I've spent a bit of time looking at blogs recently. Although I haven't set up a Wordpress blog yet (been using Blogger and b2evolution), I bookmarked the Semiologic (http://www.semiologic.com/solutions/sem-theme-pro/) site, as their Pro Package looks as though it could be useful.

mysql thingie :)

Just look at it, you only have a couple of things to change in the script and then upload. If you just spend a few minutes looking its very simple.

Do you have all of your sql info?

Word of warning on Wordpress future posts. WP1.5.3 does not ping your post dated post (notify people that you have posted a new entry) at the time the post goes live, it does it when you press publish. I don't think they have fixed this in WP2.0 either yet, I haven't tested it fully.
