We are moving the forum to a new faster server

• Dual Xeon 3.0 Ghz
• OS - Unix,Linux,Win2k
• 2048 MB ECC RAM
• Dual - 72 GIG SCSI HD
• 5 mbps Transfer Per Mo
• Web based Control Panel
• Fully Managed Server

So we may have a hickup or two, but hopefully not :)

Supplied by webair for the princely sum of $399/month. So remember to support the UK's best adult webmaster forum and stick some links up on your sites. So we can get some bums on seats and Jay doesnt have to work the lanes to pay for it :)

Or alternativly contact me for advertising and sponsor deals. We still have a couple of spots :)

How much and for what? Looking at there prices they look a bit steep to me http://www.serverprovider.com/dedicated.html Unless all those prices are double what they actually charge. As that 400 deal they have, is half the spec of mine with 1/4 of the bandwith for the same price.

But Im always interested in what deal others have struck

Jup. I just took a squize at those prices and my boxes are similar or more specs, for less, per box. But it's all relative at the end of the day, each to their own.

I don't want to ship a dozen machines across the country, RE IP them all to save a few pennies and host with someone I don't know on shit bandwidth whos domain was registerrred 6 months ago

Well I guess you are right but usually when it sounds too good to be true it is with hosting. Personally if that was the case and something was half price somewhere else and it was legit I would go to my existing place and see what they could do about my price before I moved but thats just me.

The webair deal: $400 - $150 box = $250 for 5mbps bandwidth = $50 / mbps that sounds about right to me for decent bandwidth

Your deal: $189 - $150 box = $39 for 10mbps bandwidth = $3.90 / mbps ?!!!

Serverproviders are actually part of splitinfinity - The data center is a fairly new 50 million dollar project with 8 different upstream providers connected to the network via OC 192s and as OC-768 will become available, the data center will upgrade.
Many, many server providers are actually based in this center - All are charging what they can, the ones doing most biz are the ones willing to speak face to face for deals
