Well I don't know what it is with the British & service, been looking for a UK host for some non adult stuff. I found a company wthrough the site and checked out the set up and costs etc. Knew what I wanted.

I sent them a support ticket with some questions, it was sent back and closed with comments 'We have no one to call please go to our website'.

Call them up - with my cc with a view to place an order, got some sales guy, ask them some questions about multiple domains etc the answer is the same -go to our website.

Shocking is all I can say, if the pre sales is like this then what on earth can will the support be like.

Any how the sales guy can get back to chatting to his colleague about his weekend now -

I cant see any benefits of hosting over here at all. Why dont you just use your adult host for your non adult stuff?

This is for a main stream site I working on with a my sister in law, its site that provides treaments for Vanginal Atrophy. I have spoke with friends and people I know who host main stream in the UK & US and also those who have done both.

The general feeling is that UK domains on UK servers get better UK search results, seeing as we will be selling consultations with UK doctors we want to host in the UK.

It's just really sad that a sales guy does not see his job as selling.

If you want no frills, pay as you go hosting, try Easily (http://www.easily.co.uk/).

Also worth considering are Nethosted (http://www.nethosted.co.uk/). They've been OK to date, although I've only had to create one support ticket.

UH-Hosting (http://www.uh-hosting.co.uk/) have various virtual packages that come with cPanel, but their support sucks.

HTH
