I've never really been into blogs as I've always thought of myself as a boring person lol :) But i've set up a blog to promote my site and upsell others :) You can find it at http://www.plump-blonde.com
If anyone wants to trade blog links i'd be more than happy to :) Or at the risk of sounding like a spammer, why not come on over to nichefusion and promote my ass :D
Blogs is good. Blogs makes traffic. Traffic makes money. I likes blogs :)

Looking good Elisha. Blogs are good. The key to blogs (or one of them at least) is regular updates. Personally I would not consider going more than 2 days without an update, I currently update every day.
I hope you will allow me to point out a couple of things. Currently your permalinks on your post titles are broken. If you are syndicating your feed to others then the links might not go anywhere.
Also, consider changing the format of the permalinks to SE friendly ones, rather than having .com/?p=3, it could read something like, .com/im-all-sleepy/
Just my 2 cents :)

you should,,,, i know people making 10 or more sales a day just from their blog
I got a copy of Blog Organiser just before Xmas and I must say it is the bollocks. I have had a few blogs over the years but it's finding the time to update them, other things seem more important or I simply forget.
With BO you could spend just one day writing all the updates for a year and then set BO to post one each day, autopilot ;)

Okay, I'm going to sound pretty stupid here..................
(no change)
I know what blogs are and I know how they work,
I just don't get why or how they make so much money, is it the case where you have to do about a 1000 of them to see much benefit, do they get much more traffic that a freesite?
I'm not knocking them just pondering if I should give it a try

Yeah Im lost on that one too, but if they make as good as people are making out then I dont see any reason why I can try them. Only thing is I dont know how they work, what you do to go about getting them etc...

In a nutshell, the main thing is that blogs can be made SE friendly very quickly and easily SE spiders love them. Fill them with your keywords and sponsors and there you go.
I was at YNOT's Cybernet in San Diego in June and one of that is where one of the panelists mentioned this in passing. I saw that as a way to attract the SE traffic and then feed them to my other free sites. As it happens I am making a very good return from my blog without feeding the others.
Jade: checkout wordpress.org and the supporting stuff @ codex.wordpress.org. This is one of the many blog software packages and it is one of the easiest things to set-up. It is also very well supported. There are loads of themes that you can use to get you started, or make your own. Gimme a shout back if you need any more info.
