Can anyone recommend a proprietary software for this or do you all use paper/spreadsheets?
I have been using MSMoney for years but they don't produce the updates for the package I have and anyway the functions are somewhat limited now.
I am looking for something that allows for multiple business, multiple bank accounts and multiple currencies, these are the main characteristics.

Quickbooks.
or Sage
or if you want cheap there's some free stuff you can download like cashbook complete but its shite
Quick Books is much easier to use. I use to use sage. It nearly finished me off, so my accountant put me on to Quick Books. Id never go back. But if your running a big company then Sage would be the way.

Sage is the best software around and also for the support but depending on how big your business is, spreadsheets !!

Thanks all. I will look at Sage as well but I think it might be a bit over the top for my needs. It's just me really but I have things split up into 2 businesses at the moment.
My transactions are farly simple, I just want to get things sorted and get away from MS Money since they don't upgrade it anymore.
