I don't think last night was a true reflection on Arsenal, I mean the with exception of Helb, Reyes, Lunburg the rest are youth team players or reserves at best.

Still take nothing away from Wigan they deserved a win. The Arsenal team 18 months ago was the best, prob this country has ever seen in the domestic leagues and will prob remain so unless Chelsea learn about passing along the ground.

Either way footy is better this year and with more clubs getting better like Spurs and Liverpool the big four will soon become the big 8.

The only sad thing is that Chelsea will prob dominate for many years to come, well for at least the next ten years anyway.

Still Arsenal may be having bad domestic seasin they still play the best football to watch, better then Real Madrid, Barca and all the other major teams.

I would say that the Liverpool side in the 80's or the Man Utd team in 99 when they won the treble are the best teams the country has ever seen.

I do agree that the teams like Liverpool and spurs are playing much better this season so picking 2nd-8th will be fun!!

Arsenal are having bad season I think they have got one the worst away records in the league so I wouldn’t say they are playing great footy :onguard:

Why ?? Has it been banned !!!!

This is my opinion and in no means expresses the sentiment of anyone else (especially not the wife .. loves the bloomin game ... 22 sweaty men together .. hmm sounds a bit :gay: ) ... ever ... so it's probably best to ignore it.

LOL we still play the nicest football to watch - Liverpool in the 80's spent more time passing back then going forward. The Man U team of 99 had some great players though again their style was just effective not fantasic to watch.

For a team to last 49 games with out a league defeat and to complete 38 games unbeaten its quite something. Arsenal in 1991 went through a whole season loosing just one game, away to chelses 2-1 Kerry Dixon got the winner but the style in which we played was awful so is alway forgotten.

Brazil in 1970 Mexico finals played what can only be described as perfect football, Arsenal were close to that 2 seasons ago, we clearly didnt have the same quality of players as the Brazilians had.

Spurs as much as I despise them have always played nice football, Liverpool, Chelsea & Man United just don't know how too - but again thats prob because its a results business and these guys just grind them out.

I may be wrong but we have won the main division a record number of times (still)
5 times European cup holders and the team that won the League cup a record number of times
won 5 yes five trophys in 2001
the Uefa super cup and in the Fifa world club championship final 2005
And have not been beaten in Europe for over a year
or domestically since Oct 05

oh yes Chelsea won one title so sorry they must be the biggest club

Money cannot bring all conquering success just ask Man U. look at the lumps they have paid £30m each for (Rooney exepted)

or are we now conditioned to think that only recent success counts. as United fans told us when they dominated the 90s... yes thats 6 years ago now and 7 since they won a European trophy..

have you guessed who i follow ????

Yes a typical liverpool fan - LOL

Arsenal and many small clubs like sheffield weds would have played in Europe had the Liverpool fans behaved while they were abroad.

The ban from Europe cost english football big and as result we are only just finally coming to terms with it.

You have won the EU cup 5 times, though the cup was in knock out format on four of those occasions and many people including will agree its a lot harder to win now.

Liverpool have acheived very little in the last 10 seasons, in fact that stopped winning the title when passing back to the goal keeper was outlawed.

I beleive your last domestic title was around 14 years ago. As for chelsea they may not have history but they do have a ton of cash and that does make a difference these days.

Arsenal as a club have won in the past 15 seasons

3 FA Cups
3 League titles
1 Cup winners cup

I dont list the finals were finished second in ;-)

Liverpool have won i the same period

2 FA Cup
3 Worthless Cups (no one takes this serious these days, even you can conceed that)
1 Champions League

Man U

9 League titles
5 FA Cups
1 EU Cup
1 Worthless cup

No one else from the modern game is worth mentioning, Jules don't get me wrong Liverpool have history so do Arsenal, but this is the modern game the formats have changed as has the equipment.

Years ago Liverpool played part time footballers in the EU cup these days its the worlds elite players. No one can take away from your win last season though you never did score past chelsea in the semi, I have to agree with Josse on that.

The best game I ever went to in my life was at Anfield, needed two goals and we got them, I will never forget Mcman holding his figure up saying one minute -

"....Thomas, Thomas comes charging through the midfield, thomas, its up for grabs now, right at the end Micky thomas has done it for arsenal.."

Watch the goal! (http://www.arseweb.com/images/multim/anfield2.mpg)

Listen to Brian Moore (http://www.arseweb.com/images/multim/anfield2.wav)

JULES PLEASE PLEASE listen to them.....

I also remember Charlie Nicholas was the first person to end the Ian Rush record - when rush scroed liverpool won - not in 1987 they didnt they were battered into second by the gooners.

You love your electrics I am completely barmy about my footy :cheers2:

You forgot to mention (or maybe like Mr wenger you "didnt see it")
Liverpool won the Uefa Cup in 2001 then the European super cup twice 2001 and 2005

So according to your stats Arsenal have won 7 trophys in 15 years

We won 5 in one year

You can also be-little the Euro win last year but we have won it 5 times in both formats And if you win it this year you would take it over a premiership win all day long

As for the Time when no teams were allowed in Europe because of our fans i agree that was a disgrace and i was at hysel that night and it was purly the fault of Liverpool fans
and even more controversially i also believe it was the Liverpool fans fault at Hillsborough and all the stories of drunkeness and pushing to get in without tickets and the actions of certain fans urinating on bodies and pickpocketing i can imagine are true

Scum are scum werever they come from

I bet you think the "worthless cup" is just that as you are behind in the semi final but if you get through it may not become worthless as it may be your way into Europe next year

Glad your finest memory is now 17 years old ......

I am not going to get into a two day rant so i am happy to let you have the final word....
be my guest ....

the super cup is not really competition - its only open to two clubs ;-)

Don't get me worng Liverpool are turning it around but you have been pretty much a nothing team since Liverpool really dominated the domestic leagues.

I don't think your fans did pick the pockets of others laying on floor, other Liverpool fans I know who were there dispute this and they wouldn't lie about that, Liverpool fans were however known for 'rushing' the turnstyles to get into games in the good old days of standing.

(to be fair I jumped the gate a few times) When we played you in Littlewoods cup in 90-91 I couldnt get ticket so me and 3 mates hid in the toilets in the ground for 8 hours just to see the game!!! I still got a door knob of one of the bogs which became a lucky charm for - feel really stupid looking back on it.

We play Madrid in the CL, if I had to choose a club from the current premier league to beat them it would have to be Liverpool. What you have got this season is outstanding discipline you hold your shape well and just get on with things.

Chelsea are still bonding as a team, the fact their players are all so gifted is enough to grind out results when they should really be getting just a point. They have only showed hunger once this season and that was at Anfield.

For us it looks like years of being behind spurs (cough...cough...scum) as whats happening at shite hart lane is pretty impressive.

BTW See Alan Smith tonight? How he never walked alone off the field I will never know. Shocking!

Tell me one thing if you don't mind. How is it that Liverpool & Everton fans can well used to stand side by side, was it really that friendly?

Yeah Smithy would have to die to come off the field lol but it did look bad

And Robbie Savage what a wanker "Robbie Savage was mystified as to why he was booked" http://msnsport.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=352554&CPID=2&clid=&lid=2&title=Savage+upset+with+booking He had is hands around Rooney’s neck he should have been sent off!!!

Wayne Rooney has dismissed his spat with Robbie Savage as "handbags" like a real man and not piss and moan about it.
