Looking to shop around and change supplier as it were,

Currently I'm paying $35 per mbps for overage, which I now think is way too expensive for these days

I always recommend mojo. I think theirs is 25 bucks, but I could be wrong.

brad AT mojohost.com will sort you right out, like a manslut. And he is nice too. Which helps.

I have heard a lot of good things about them lately

OK update just got my b/w reduced to $12 per mpbs from a quick email with webair

Really shows you need to keep on top of the falling b/w prices, I tend not to look even once a year, one thing you need to keep an eye on.

This rate my new tube will be launched soon :noway2:

Dont you believe it, b/w is falling fast and people are moving, a host would rather cut a new deal than lose a customer

I doubt anyone will be charging more than $2 per mpbs this time next year, or even by the new year maybe :noway2:

Hello JT,

You are right about the guys over there being very good and doing whatever they can to not loose any clients but we should talk to as you never know what a little information gathering might yield!

$35 is my entire hosting costs, for that I get 100MB of webspace and 20GB a month transfer which is all anyone ought to need. :P

Thanks I will transfer over the weekend I don't know how I missed this deal.

JT should try it too, as it's all unlimited, I can't believe anyone would pay for bandwidth these days :noway2:

Something I will be looking at now.

Traffic has fallen by about 20% this year, yet my bandwidth overages increase each month - And the cost of each mbps over is far too high.

Bandwidth is like the National Health Service. Free

My traffic has fallen way more than that, so has my bandwidth usage, thats why I hadn't shopped around, but I knew I was paying way over the odds. I expect my usage to rocket this year as Im offering hosted flash movies for tubes and blogs etc, thats why I got it looked at.

I seriously doubt anyone will be paying more than $2 per mpbs this time next year

Hosts that charge outrageous overages like $35 are looking to laugh all the way to the bank if you're so unfortunate as to go over your commit by a little bit. If it's more than a little bit, you can kiss your wallet goodbye.

Our standard overage rate is $8.:alc:

While I would certainly like to earn your business you might try speaking to your host about the situation and see what they can do about increasing your accounts committed bandwidth so that you are not paying overages every month.
