PC windows XP bug

I have found that recently some programmes open a window, but it seems that part of the window is missing.

Is this something to do with the way I have xp set up or is it a bug.

I have enclosed a pic as an example. If you see the right, you can see part of the screen is missing.

I have found this with one or two other progs.

Any sugestions?

set the fonts for the menus and windows to normal rather than big.

I have changed font and screen resalution, and its still the same.

Must be a setting issue somewhere as I have never seen that happen.
