what actually happens at these shows? is it just a load of affil reps pimping their programs, or are there genuinely good reasons to go?

i am interested in this, purely cus its amsterdam, and i want to smoke a lot.

It depends what you put into it. But more webmasters are always wanted. And although you might not love reps hassling you, if you go and meet some you might find more sites you'd like to work with because you get on with the rep, or find out facts you didn't know that make you want to promote one over another.

There are webmasters, aff reps, designers, programme owners, techies hosts, billers, content, everything all together.

I go there and generate more money than when I left, if I didn't my clients would stop paying me to go!

I'll be doing a very big push for 3wayscash.com this year with quite a big marketing stunt.

If you are prepared to walk up to people you don't know and start chatting with them, you'll make money by the end of the weekend.

There are seminars during the day, sponsored networking lunch, sponsored cocktail hour 5-7, then dinners, then sponsored bar at a party. So there's many opps for meeting people and doing new business.

I get paid to go to about 4 shows a year in the US, but still Amsterdam is my fave one to go to.

Oh yeah, and you can smoke lots of pot should you want to.

I'll be there and Oktoberfest afterwards. I agree with Damian - what you get out of it depends totally on what you put in. I've noticed with the last round of US shows that a lot less affiliates are turning up but the decision makers are still there. Shows are still of great value to us as Billers.

You forgot to mention reason number 1 - that if you go up and chat to people like you and Jerry, you could end up in a gay gangbang/orgy type evening ;)

Sadly not this year. Jerry is not coming and I am taking my girlfriend over. So, the chances of any gay love action is slim.

I am not going to the show though would welcome the opportunity to have a meeting with you so would fly to amsterdam to do so.

When I get back from Miami I will check out the details to see if we can hook up as we have a LOT to talk about
