Up until last week Abbey had very kindly (and mistakenly) not charged me to cash my US$ cheques. Now they are charging me £10 per cheque.
From a quick search on here I have found the following
RBS £7/cheque
Lloyds £8/batch
Any more that has low US$ cheque fees and preferably low or free banking charges for other transactions?
Any recommendations?
Barclays $9/batch if its a personal account $10.50 per batch if its business. The business account ones clear much quicker, within a couple of days

Sorry "£" not "$"
Auctionchex.com (http://www.auctionchex.com) charge £0.95 PER BATCH. They are very good and very reliable, turnaround is usually a few days.

Interesting link that one Geezer
I'm not imnpressed with their spread... Auctionchex.com
$100 = £53.48
£53.48 = $89.31
That is a big difference on such a small amount. If I use one of my US cc's I'm getting around £1:$1.76 at the moment.

Yeah, their exchange rate is a tad higher than elsewhere but they do turn it around pretty quickly. I used to wait up to 3 months for cheques to be cashed and I was charged over £7 per cheque.

I haven't looked in to any of these fully yet but I guess the auctionchex thing is good if you have a lot of small cheques, otherwise I am actually cheaper sticking with my own bank and paying £/cheque.
I might have problems doing biz with a company set-up by an ebayer called lancashire_lad as well. I will have to get my head round it. I am very sceptical.
That said I do business with people that go by the likes of, Phil-Flash, TeasingPanties, Duke Skywalker, Big Red, Panchodog, jayman etc. Ha ha. :)
