Do you respect the police?
I have lost a lot of respect lately.
Some of you may have seen in the news about the kid who was strangled in the woods in Dewsbury by a bunch of 15 year olds.
This is local to me. I read the papers (local ones) andit said that residents have been phoning the police for weeks about these kids and the police just said they were too busy. An elderly lady had someone wee on her front door. The police were still too busy. So the kids just carried on. The result was that they got hold of a 3 year old and nearly killed him.
Yet a woman driving and eating an apple at the same time is fined.
My friend had 3 police come to his door at 3am as he had not paid a parking fine. He is currently not working due to ill health and has not much money. I went to his hose and gave the police the cash. Yet when he got broken in to, it took the police 8 hours before someone bothered to see him.
Take the teacher who was harassed by those kids. Police did nothing. So she lost it and fired a air rifle in the air. Off to prison for her. I suspect if she had lied about shooting the gun, she would have been ok. But no, she was honest.
The way I see it, is if you decide to break the law. Annoy your nabours. You will be fine, worse you will get is a small fine.
I have lost huge faith in the police at the moment. In truth, if someone broke into my house and robed the place or mugged me in the street or even beat me up, unless it got into the news, I suspect the police would do nothing.

Police in the UK atm can GFY
I respect individual police men/women, I think its proberly a hard job, however some of them are of course cocks... the main problem i think is your completely correct in saying, they have time to catch speeding motorists becuase its easy pray... but actually catching real criminals is hard work so they dont bother... our office got burgled a while ago, the poilce siad pretty much, dont worry about getting your stuff back its not going to happen.... the likleyhood of catching these people is very slim!!!!

On top of that I had some berk policeman report my car for not having a tax disc on a public road.
I went mad as (a) it was on my drive, but the back wheel it touching the road (in a very quiet street). (b) I am fixing the car, its my second car, and so it currently has no engine in it. So I cannot drive to get it taxed as yet. (c) It has a full history of being taxed since new. (d) Its still insured.
I went nuts. I said look, its only about 1 inch of rubber touching the road. The bulk of the car is on private land. I said look your just being petty.
Anyway, they aid write in and they will review it. That was 2 weeks ago and I have not heard anything.
What buged me was that the fine was only £58. I though, hell its cheaper just to pay a fine than tax the car. I mean what incentive is there to tax a car, if the most you get is £58?
I also said, if your going to be petty, then arrest me for attempted murder, as I know that the car produces chemicals that can kill. Thus by definition me, and everybody else who drives should be charged with attempted murder. The police woman on the phone was not impressed.
I do go overboard a bit.

I have a sneaky feeling that police now (due to Labour) work on targets.
Traffic offences are easy pray, and give 100% results, while burglary is harder and the result will be much lower. Thus they now avoid certain crimes.
I may be wrong, but more I see on TV each day, the more I suspect it to be the case.

i'm pretty sure the idea is you pay the fine and the taxes. they know about you now, so you are a perfect target if you don't pay the taxes, they'll just come around and fine you until you give in (assuming your car was working).
I do respect the police, completely. Granted you'll get the odd bent cop, but compared to many country's police I think we've got a good force.

yes I agree...I was watching a program on sky1 last week hosted by ross kemp called "gangs of the world" or something like that it was about Rio. They had a tape of a guy being arrested by about 5 cops and he was struggling so this one cop drags him round the back of the cop car and shoots him dead. All captured on video it was unreal.
Id take the UK police over most other countries any day.

Targets where bought in by the tories not Labour
I respect the police (mostly anyway). I am however quite upset about the way they are undermanned (badly undermanned in some cases) largely due to underfunding by the government.
I don't know how the officers cope with repeatedly arresting the same people (people caught on video committing offences, people caught in the act of committing offences etc) who are then repeatly let off by the courts. It would make me want to give up the job.

I agree with Edc They arrest the fuckers and the judges let them out

Possibly irrelevant, but a friend of mine is a copper ... only a young lad & still on probation.
He says that due to the amount of paperwork & admin, it's not at all what he envisaged the job would be like in the slightest - spending *much* more time writing up reports rather than 'on the beat'... So much so that he's pretty much decided that it aint for him... shame.
I respect 99% of them. Too be honest the poor fuckers are so stretched to the limit that the odds are really against them, but some are arseholes for sure. What I dont respect is the current political climate however and the people higher up the foodchain who define political correctness. They can suck my whiteboy cock.

I can understand his feelings -
However, getting the police, army etc up to full capacity and also ensuring uk citizens have decent roads to drive to the hospitals...
The current uk government may not be all that you want - But you will never see it better anywhere in the world.
I can tell you stories about all of those things from here in Poland that would really make you see the difference between a developped country and a country that is fully recognised as being "developped"
For those of you that have never left your mother's tits, see what you can get dealt with in other countries first, then you will see that the uk ain't far off being the best in everything.

i feel sorry for the avarage bobby on the beat, its not their fault they have been turned into blairs tax collectors.
also the judicial system sucks, sit in the public gallery of the 'old Baily and see what quality of barrister you get if you have no money.

This is a bog problem and if you are going to do something wrong do at shift change over times. They don't want to be staying behind for hours filling out reports and taking statements, plus they are not allowed over time for such things so they will look the other way. Obviously depends on the crime, if you shot someone they probably wouldn't then :p
They should employ civil servants to do all the paper work, the obl bill takes the suspect back, gives details and fucks off again, leaving some civilian to take, names adresses, statements and to book the suspects in.

Absoloutley. He said it has got to the point that they pick and choose 'jobs' according to how much paperwork it's likely to create ... and that cant be right :-/
the paper work might have to stand in court and back up the police's deeds. having it done by someone else than those personally involved might allow flaws in it that any half assed lawyer can pick apart and bail guilty ones out.
cops suck !!
Even the father in law sucks and hes a fully fegded asshole cop

Oh I know all that, but political correctness does suck balls. As for Poland, it cant be worse than Albania - a place I took a trip to out of curiosity, never again lol.
