Hello,
I am in the process of finally putting my site online.
I am wondering how many sets should I start with? Do you think 20 photo sets and 15 videos will be enough to go online with?
Obviously I have back up content ready so updates will be done weekly (once/twice a week).
Thanks

20 picsets & 15 vids is not enough for a regular paysite join imo
although it would also depend on your intended subscription rate
and the length of the videos ( can you split them into sub scenes?)
we recently opened a new site with 120 vidsets, which has helped
us retain members early on into a few 2nd and 3rd month rebills,
but a new site with 15 vids will most likely fail to rebill past month 1
i would be more inclined to suggest 50 sets.. absolute minimum 30,
also consider the fact that you will need a % of your sets for promo
good luck & welcome to BAB

I'm not sure I agree. I think content quantity for start up and indeed, going forwards into future updates depends almost entirely on niche / micro niche.
If your site / content is aimed at mainstream porn / glam then youd need a LOT of content to stand a chance of competing, but if your in a micro niche, then you could get away with a start up base of 30 pic sets and 20 vids I reckon
No matter what "niche" you are in that would have to be incredibly good to stop 90% cancelling after the first few days. 20 and 15 would have been ok once but I would be looking to hold back until I had 30 or so videos to get the retention there from day one.

me no get it.. what day 1 retention are we talking about here ?
that elusive 10% only enjoyed by the 'incredibly good' sites ? ;)
surely (assuming the quality is there) then 'the more is better' right ?
lol i mean, a handful of your Sonia full length affiliate members clips
could conceivably equal or exceed the total amount of all original
video on his site if the 15 vids were not full length.. seems daft
regards johnboys good point of bringing quality from day one,
imho a punters definition of 'quality' within a particular niche
can be very subjective, often having little to do with specs etc,
and much more to do with a site truly understanding the niche..
lol and if it sticks in some throats, KJ having any opinion based
on his tiny liccle paysite, open only 3 months.. please remember

It also depends on how often the site is updated, you can more likely get away with less pic sets and videos if you are going to be updating daily or even twice daily that way the content is going to build up fairly quickly.

It depends if the site is on its own or if you join it you access to other sites.

Course it fucking doesn't.

I disagree.
If you join a site that has some good sets on it, but you access to other sites that have content and you like you will look at those too.
If you get sat tv for a station but find its not that good but the other stations make up for it you would be happy.
You could have a single sites with hindreds of vids and millions of pics but if they are all the same you will only stay a month.
At the end of the day the true result is do you rebill.
If your membership is 1 month, then you know you are not doing somthing right.
If you re-bill then your doing somthing right.
how much you charging?
Are you charging at all?
Is it a VOD or a membersite?
Is the content unique to you?
Is the content very niche?
Do you have traffic/customers for it?
Are you going to using any plug ins?

How long is a piece of string?
Exactly twice as long as it is from the middle, to one end....

But that still depends if one end is longer than the other.

I think what is more relevant, is how thick the said string is, as beyond a certain thickness EU Directive 353343434b sub paragraph d says it must be called a rope...

I'm working hard putting together a package of 19 HD videos and 46 image sets of this girl Delma.
Delma, solo teen content.

The whole package is $250, for that price can you say no?
Yes it's spammy but is it wise to start a site with so little when for a little bit more you can double the size?

The answer will also depend on the content. If you have something truly unique yet still sells, good quality porn hitting the niche on the nail head and will add to it, there is a chance the amount you spoke of is enough. But I still think you need more.
