What to reps do?

I see from time to time people posting saying they are reps for websites. But what do they do?

Do they simply answer a few emails?

spam webmaster boards...make the aff program look bigger than it really is like "oh they hire reps they must be big time"...post in all the "spam me with" threads...

thing is i like the fact they're there cuz it's such easy support if you ever need it.

Imo 96% of program reps are total asshats that don't have a flipping clue. Thankfully I only work with a small amount of programs they either have decent webmasters part timeing as reps or I know the program owners.

I just got a job as a rep and here's exactly what I do:

- Create and implement promo tools for the program.
- Tech support for anyone that needs it.
- Go to webmaster conventions to get the name out there (first show will be in January).
- Brainstorm new ideas to improve the program... and then make them happen.
- And yes, spamthe boards just a little bit :)

I've only had this job for about a week but I've worked with Matt for many months and I promise you'll be seeing a lot of new and interesting ideas coming out of UK-AdultCash in the near future

With 13 sites to run i need more help - simple as that.
Shes a good honest worker, knows her shit and what she doesn't yet know is eager and happy to learn. Already shes had some great ideas and is working on getting these set up with little help from me so i can get on with other things.

More like a webmaster than a rep - Normally there are 2 ways companies use reps:
1) Spam the boards with meaningless posts every day -
2) Manage a few partner accounts and spam the boards with meaningless posts every day -

I'm sure there are different levels of what reps do. Personally, I would never take a job where I would just have to spam the boards. The only threads I post in are the ones where people are asking for services that UK-AdultCash provides, or the ones I find interesting for personal reasons. I do see how you could think that some reps are useless, but I bet quite a few of them do more than you thought.

All I meant was that you shouldn't let the title fool you. Some reps have more responsibilities than others.

Title never did fool me - Reps are reps as submitters are submitters - If some are employed doing non rep work, yet they like the title "rep" then so be it -
