UK TV sucks.
They will be paying executives thousands to come up with all these crap programmes.
Its just all junk.
Who the hell is watching celebrity love island?
I heard that many of the shows have been dropped due to low ratings. Maybe this is the end to all this junk.
Even the best of them (big brother) has just got a bunch of dull bores. I have not watched 10 mins of it.
I bet I could come out with great shows.
Take today (Sat) which used to be the best day for TV, apart from a few films, there is nothing on. I used to love Saturday TV. Now its shit.
Maybe you could suggest something?? I agree TV is a bit shit... maybe we can come up with a better show :)

I am not sure if its just a budget thing or what, but they seem to be running everything down.
Take the kids TV shows around 4pm. They seem to have reduced this. It used to go on till 6pm on ITV, now its chat shows.
When I was a kid in the 70's they had no budget or special effects as they do today, yet TV was loads better.
TizzWass (Not sure how it was spelt) was fantastic. I still have a tizzwass t-shirt from when I was 6. Its on one of my teddy bears now (well its a bit small for me now).
TV now just seems to be crap shows with very very well paid presenters.
Even the soaps suck. Coronation Street is just full of second rate actors who every 3 weeks, pop up, say 'ay up' and that's its for another 3 weeks. They are all stinking rich.
The adverts are the best thing to watch now.
You do not eve see nature shows now. Its just vids of animals doing daft things!!!!!
No wonder all the kids are fucked up.
Agreed - although Eurotrash was mildy entertaining.
Did you know that only 15% of the country watch BBC and something like 95% pay for a licence, fucking nice work if you can get it.

it's not like broadcasting for 15% causes any less costs than broadcasting for 95% :D
I would be happy if they just dropped everything and ran shows like Red Dwarf, The Young Ones, Bo Selecta (not series 3) & Trigger Happy TV all the time. And to break it up they could have CSI, the news & interesting documentaries nicked from National Geographic.

I reckon Aussie TV is worse, we have to subscribe to pay tv to get the luxury of watching BBC!!!

Having grown up with American tv I think the BBC is worth the fee alone.

BBC used to be good.
But that was in the past, for the last few years its got very poor.
Supporters of the BBC always quote programmes made in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. In fact if you notice who makes most programmes now, are the independent companies.
I get very angry when you hear a presenter on a BBC show gets vast amounts of money, yet the shows are junk. I also get angry that they run probably the biggest advert on any UK TV channel, this being the national lottery.
I have often said that the BBC only needs radio 4, as all the other stations such as radio 1 or being done often better commercially. BBC4 and BBC7 are needed. I would also suggest that BBC1 and 2 are combined into 1 quality channel. This would at least reduce the money needed to pay for the channels dramatically. Thus cutting the TV licence in half if not more.
Many of the programmes the BBC are putting out can be done on commercial channels, mainly as they are non UK programmes.

I disagree about the radio. I listen to a lot of Radio Five Live and whilst I also enjoy radio 4 from time to time I prefer the news format of radio five through out the day. The BBC - both on radio and tv - still does the best factual programming anywhere in the world. I guess if people are looking for sitcoms for their fee then maybe they would indeed be disapointed but tell me somewhere that is better? Remember you only see the cream of the crop from the States and most of them stink anyway and if watched back in the States come with a huge number of comercials.

I also question about the fact that we in the UK seem to pay for TV shows that are shown worldwide. What is worse is that shows are now being made exclusively for the USA market. An example is DrWho that was made 45 mins so it could be shown in the usa with adverts.
I also object to the beeb also making tons of cash by putting everything onto DVD. I mean if I go into HMV and pick up the latest DrWho DVD and walk out, I will be arrested. I mean I have already paid for it with the licence fee.
And what is with all the prize money they give away on game shows!!!! Take the weakest link, they gave 7,000 as a prize money. I though, that's my money they are giving away. Arrrrrrrgh.
