Looking at a camcorder just for normal everyday stuff - my kids playing in the snow, holiday recording, normal mundane shit etc.

Will be using it indoors as well - birthdays and whatnot.

Been checking the various Canon camcorders, the HV20, HG10, HF10, HG21; anyone have any of these? Opinions? Any recommendations for similar class camcorders?

Thanks :)

edit:

Ps - I note that US sites offer the same cameras at about half what amazon UK quote - I assume the only difference is the mains lead/adaptor that is set to their voltage, and would need to buy a lead/adaptor to cover the uk voltage - anyone know if that is indeed the case with US electrical items?

I have the HV20 and it isn't bad at all - The only difference between that and the others is the amount of memory needed - HV20 holds a shitload and additional memory sticks can be added - So go for the HV10 and save yourself a bob or two -
The files these cams produce are MS files and are very small, so storing all your original video on a hard drive takes up little space - Only when renderring to wmv etc, do they get bulky -
From video to computer to editing (sony vegas) to completion is a piece of piss and very quick.
Have a look on ebay.uk as you may get one much cheaper than a shop.

I have so many fucking Sony cameras and camcorders I fucked myself in the ass this time -
This one (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665291496) is the one I was chortling on about - Don't know about the HD20 - Sorry mate!

Edit - to add - Also - You were talking about canon - I believe these camcorders are much the same as each other, only the canon maybe a bit cheaper.

re: US electronics, all are now dual voltage, so you only need to get a plug/plug adapter and you're sorted.
