can't believe they put him on Live at the Apollo

hearing mostly nervous laughter . . basically dying a death

he's a weak comedy dinosaur . . plenty funnier than him these days

and if he wasn't black he'd lose 90% of his cliche material

guy was funny for 5 minutes back in '85

been milking it since . . pffft

what do youz reckon ?

he'd need a big dick to penetrate multiple layers of flab and still find a wetspot

shoulderchipwise . . he doesn't come across as a happy man inside
plus i think we've all moved on from laughing at the token black man
most kids these days don't give a fuck about race, they just wanna laugh

Me, Geezer and PSL saw him at a Premier Inn in Kent...
I was a bit drunk, but he came off as being somewhat flat and one dimensional to me...

he used to be very good

but not for ages now

i think he is on the bbc simply due to his wife. they will not want to upset her.

then again Vic Reeves is no longer funney.

but i watched him tonight and got a bit fed up with his 'brother' jokes.

good point on the wife contacts..

and one dimensional is a great way to describe his comedy

there are people on the circuit now with very clever routines indeed
comedy audiences have matured a lot in recent years imo
more people going to clubs, growth of Edinburgh fezzy etc
seems to me Lenny hasn't matured with his audience
he's not edgy or clever enough for audiences in 2009
he should be off doing VIP after dinner speeches in
west indian community centres, not BBC1 primetime

he used to be very good

i disagree . . he was ALWAYS shite mate
we were just young with an undeveloped sense of humour
we just THINK he was good cus we remember laughing at "oooooookay"

edit: just found this..

always thought he deserved a medal for shagging t' Mrs

I think it is universally recognised that he probably the unfuniest person who has ever lived.

That said, I love Live at the Apollo and so will probably watch it and give him 5 minutes to change my mind before I turn him off again

I didn't watch it but did I miss him doing his new cutting edge, controversial, Trevor McDonald impersonation?

I used to think he was funny when I was a kid when he used to do his sketch shows... find him really crap now though.

Yeah and when I dragged him outside to meet everyone he had to be rescued by the porter, he was so fake.

What amazed me was how easily you literally picked him up, put him under your arm and took him to meet the other peeps.Lenny is big man but then again so are you Geezer, but shit! you must eat a shitload of spinach to be able to pick up that big lump.Mind you Lenny wasn't that steady on his feet!

I think his old style of comedy has always been geared towards the older generation and family entertainment - "Three of a kind" typified his direction.

Britain has always produced the best comedians and we have been spoilt for choice - From the rough in your face stuff to the intellectual.

I have been lucky enough to have seen some fantastic live shows but, the best of all was an impromtu performance by Bob Monkhouse while staying at the same hotel as my team - He went on telling jokes for bloody hours and although his material was very different than what he used on the box, he did so without being crude - A genuinely very, very funny guy.
