Why ICQ?

Why do people seem to prefer ICQ rather than email.

I prefer ICQ because I like to operate my business on a P2P level. Also if you can catch a person in their timezone it is faster then waiting 12hrs or whatnot for a snapper head to answer their emails.

ICQ has 1 fatal flaw... It really pisses me off with all these spam requests u get now..... 40 when I logged on this morning....

and you can chat live on ICQ

Yeah but with an email you can leave it sitting in an inbox for weeks, at least with ICQ you know within a few seconds if you'll have to pick up the phone!

Instant message communication it a vital part of our business, all our staff use trillian and we communicate back and forth with clients, basically in real time.

I do a lot of emailing and many times prefer it, but IM is vital.

Cos of the way I work ICQ etc are brill.. At 4 am I'm on line to people in LA having dinner at 8 pm the night before and someone in India having his mid morning tea break ahead of us.. Due to time differences, messaging whether ICQ, Msn, Yahoo or what ever is a necessity for work.

Used Trillian Pro right from the launch on everything here and it really is an excellent little program. ICQ spam just goes away overnight.

SGS Thanks.. The thumbs load but some of the pics in the top row don't appear when clicked ??? I was told that the whole of the first row enlargements on gallery 4 are missing ...

Once before I did a mega update and forgot to load the enlargements.. It took 2 weeks before anyone bothered to tell me... LOL

Ouch... When that happens its time to quietly upload them and then if anyone says anything blame it on their firewall. :)

In Person -> Phone/skype -> Instant Messenger of some sorts -> Email -> Physical Mail

Here's an example why ICQ...

I have been have a few things I needed sorted with CCBill, I have been using E-mail, and although they are pretty on the ball you don't always get the same person replying.

I asked for help from CCBill James on here and he PMed me his ICQ number. I contacted him and within ten minutes all was sorted, so :thumbsup: to James and :thumbsup: to ICQ/Trillian ;)
