Why give an affilate link then?, did you think anyone here would sign up?

As for copyrighting any order of the letters fcuck, what do you mean, they have copyright over letters of the Aplhabet?

Fcuklifestyle.com domain name ordered transferred to FCUK

French Connection Limited (French Connection ) has just won an important victory before the World Intellectual Property Organization Arbitration and Mediation Center (WIPO) in gaining the transfer of the domain name www.fcuklifestyle.com.

It depends how you use it.

If you set up MS softwear, I think you would have legal problems. But Micheal Spunkhead Softwear is fine, as its your real name.

Not as a business name, unless (I think) its your real name. But then again even then I am not 100% sure.

I know that a few places called McDonalds have had legal problems.

I remember somone got aolbabes.com (or somthing like that) and had AOL get in touch with them.

You can, but you may face legal issues.

There was a pizza place in Leeds (very good it was) who was a fan of blues brothers (film) and named his place Bulushes (not sure the correct spelling).

He had to change the name when holywood found out.

It was a real shame.

He was a real fan.

He held soul and blues music from time to time upstaires. He even had an inported USA police car. This guy was a real fan.

I think he lost interest after the legal problems and just sold the place. His pitsas were great too. The best in Leeds.

Its an interesting place too, as before he got it, it was this all yellow (windows blanked out) devil book shop. It was even on TV as they claimed people were having sex inside and out in satanic richuals. In fact I think they claimed peopled had been kiled in the shop as a sacrafice to satin.

The Mc in McDonalds is copyrited.

me thinks you are wrong there, it's the 2 golden arches that make the M in the logo. also that's trademarked, not copyrighted.

I dont think a big Corp like FCUK would go to court to fight a site with BUTTFCUK

imagine the publicity.... hold on, maybe BUTTFCUK should take FCUK to court Imagine the publicity :)

It would be one thing if buttfcuk sold clothing, but as it's obviously just a typo of "fuck," I think that everything is safe. Context is a very important factor in this situation

Yeah trademark and copyright, totally different.

Like Viki said if buttfcuk was selling clothes or Mr McDonald is Scotland was selling burgers it would be a different thing.

Let the Daily Sport get hold of it and do a story, Matt would be laughing all the way to the Leeds ;)

We used to have a site called paulandjo.com. Just a site featuring me and the missus fucking etc. One day we got a letter from some BIG French lawyers telling us to remove the site immediately as it was doing damage to their clients - the famous Paul and Joe clothes designers. In the end we told them to FUCK OFF as my name's Paul and the wife's name is Jo(anne), so they couldn't say we were intentionally using the designers names.

Funnily enough we never heard from them again.

Sometimes you've just got to have the balls (or the naivety) to tell lawyers to bollox!

You could always tell them you're dyslexic, and then sue the fuckers under the disability discrimination act if they don't back off.
