apart from the .xxx thing being a crap idea, it does look like a lose-lose situation really.

if ICANN gets its way, there will be more complaints about ICANN doing what it wants. if the US gov gets its way, there is proof that the US are not only having full control over ICANN but also that they are willing to abuse that power.

Good post, Ive never thought of it like that. But .xxx is the worste thing that will happen to us if it happens

it'd be the plain horror, not only piss easy to filter out, which would mean losing out on all the office surfers, i'm also willing to bet that major services like AOHell would offer 'porn light' (similar maybe to the german 16+ and 18+ ratings) in their adult areas which then leads on to the real deal - and since it's only for members (paying members, so they already proved they are willing to whip their CC out), they won't need an .xxx domain for it. :mad:

I don't think it will happen personally...seems to me a nightmare to enforce and even conservative groups are against it..
