Just bought a load of full length movie clips in wmv.

Im clipping them up into smaller clips all are fine except one.

It plays fine when its full length but when clipped it plays but then wont go past the first frame although I can hear the audio fine. Any ideas?

I think you made a bad choice buying WMV clips if you were planning on editing them. WMV is already highly compressed, so if you edit and re-export they're going to look crap, if they work at all.

What software are you using to edit?

My advice would be go back to the content provider and see if you can get MPEG2 or raw AVI files instead.

They are just for galleries so I'm using video charge just normally run them through and it produces the clip and corresponding thumb. All the other's went through fine Ill ask the broker to resend it in mpeg. Thanks

:agree:

WMV files are flakey to try and cut up as they are not really meant for editing

good luck

Get the files in mpeg, then its easy to edit.

In fact it one reason I prefer to put out my film files in wmv as its harder for people to edit them.
