View Full Version : CCBill Chargeback?
I finally signed up with CCBill EU and today got my first chargeback, bastard.
Am I within my rights to E-mail them and ask why?
I think this was deliberate though because the E-mail address is a mans name but the sign up name is female, so they probably do this to get some free stuff.
While I'm thinking of it, do CCBill monitor who is charging back and if they are doing it a lot would they ban them or something?
Its all part off lifes rich tapestry. Dont let it get to you. Just build into your business that 1% of people will charge back, usually because they know they can

Yeah I'm not bothered, I know chargebacks are going to happen sooner or later, and I do actually think that most that charge back know what they are doing. No point asking for feedback as they had no intention of staying or paying.
CCBill won't know why they chargedback - that's between the customer and the credit card company - and yes they do blacklist people who chargeback out of habit.

This is correct, and we black list customers immediately when a chargeback occurs as from that point on they are considered 'high risk'.

Thanks Paul, good to know
Geezer..
Wait till you see a 3 month no re-bill member chargeback a week before the membership expires :( I've seen this as I'm sure have most of the others...
I checked the logs and the guy had downloaded a lot !!! It could be construed as theft but the cost outweighs the money we'd win if we tried to take them to court...
As Rosie said.. CCBill and us guys can do nothing, but all cc processors blacklist these people asap :)
Now wait for the check sales to bounce.. I've removed this option from mpst of my pay sites for this reason. I had 90% fail after the member had access for a week :(

Actually I just looked again and it's a ctually a "returned check" and it just says "Cancel Reason: Customer Charged Back"
Same meat different gravy?
Geezer
Remove the check billing option asap.. That's my advise. It's not a big loss, I promise you.
And CCBill Paul....
When the boys were over here in Sep we spoke about CCBill accepting our Solo and Switch debit cards. I wondered if there was an update on this. I spoke to Jeff Neiss the other week as he said back then, this was imminent, but his last news was.. nothing happening yet. You guys know the number of your clients who are UK based and we're all missiing out on the extra biz this could bring in :(

ah returned check. Thats a great one. Look forward to many of those. Joe has a point. I often think about dropping checks, they return rate is huge.

No, very different. Returned check is very common and doesnt count towards your charge back ratio

We take a large amount of money through checks and get very few bounce or returned. Speak to CCBill about this as they have a simple fix that stops this down to amost nothing. Check subscribers retain for *many* months and make up a considerable amount of income for us.

This is correct. We have two systems in place that have proved to be very successful in the fight against check fraud. Anyone interested in more information let us know.

I spoke to Mark/Corvette about this ages ago and thought that it was set up automaticaly.
The way I would like it to work is .. The check clears then the surfer gets his log in details, but what surfer wants to wait a week to view porn. I also use NoChex and have to add these manually. I get moans as they have to wait a max of 24 hrs for access, even though I advertise this fact clearly before the surfers uses them..

What I would like to know from ccbill is this -
I get an average of 3 failed rebills a day - (This is going by daily projected rebills versus actual rebill and with no cancellation note to counteract the rebill not being actual - In other words - At the end of each day, those rebills are still showing as actual rebills due several hours previous)
I never get more rebills than are actually due, yet I never get the correct amount of "Failed to rebill" emails. -
Losing 3 rebills a day adds up to a lot of cash throughought the year - Not getting the equivalent amount of failed to rebill emails to match the failed rebills is kind of worrying -

We take a *lot* of checks and very rare we get a problem now and our surfers are waiting minutes not weeks. If we killed the check option that would amount to the price of a small house annually so to put a stop to that would be madness.
