Do any of you guys use any kind of external website uptime/monitoring service? Have looked at Google and there are hundreds of them so hoping for recommendations - all I need at this stage is the ability to check the existance of the site every 15 mins but must be from the UK but other options like SMS etc in the future would be useful.

Id go for the best, and use the one the BBC website uses to ensure its online all the time...

We use http://www.server-monitoring.co.uk/ for all of our boxes and clusters.

pingdom.com is a good service, can specify where the checks are from, and also does the SMS alerts etc
