If you do, your going to feel smug when it snows this year and icy on the roads.

Just think for most of the year people look at you like scum for driving one.

When it snows they will be kissing your ass to get them out of the snow and ice.

alternatively, you could learn to drive.

alternatively, you could learn to drive. What I mean is that normall cars will be getting stuck, while 4x4's will be able to cope.

I remeber a few years back where a Posh was stuck in the snow (had those fancy flat tyies) while an old 4x4 drove past him, the look on the chaps face in his top of the range Porsh was funney.

I drove in the tracks of the 4x4, and got home.

years ago i drove a 1981 BMW 3 series up in the mountains. in January. deepest winter. lots of snow. and nice ice on the roads. guess what, i drove up, spent an evening in a club and came down the same night. unharmed.
as Beemers back then were bastards when it came to the car's rear end trying to overtake you, i put extra weight in the boot during winter and had no issues at any point.

i repeat, there is always the option to learn driving. that includes knowing your car. and that flat tyres don't go well with winter roads.

I see what you mean.

My advise is if you see some black ice on the road and its quiet, pratice breaking in it, as if you know how to break and stear on black ice, you may find in an emergancy you will be safe.

If your in snow turn the wheel left and right in deep snow rather than keeping the weels in a straight line.

Also now is a good tyme to buy a shovel (a strong one) to put in your boot, plus keep your mobile fully charged.

My little old micra was goog in snow as its not a heavy car, not sure how my heavy Aodi is going to be. At least it has new tyes on it.

As its been warm winter for many years there are going to be LOTS of people who are going to be court out this winter.

I agree with above

4X4s are useless in the hands of people who cannot drive

I Lived in deepest Scotland when i learnt to drive (aged 10)
later when working at 17 had to travel 15 miles on country roads to work and in winter on solid packed snow sometimes...In a Fiat 127 with no brakes( Just handbrake) for 3 months
How to stop??? go sideways

never got stuck once

If you know how to handle a normal car properly, you should be able to handle most snowy conditions that occur in the UK without the need for a 4x4 toy. The problem comes when you're following someone who doesn't. Then you're shafted :-/

There has just been an announcement from some PM.

Due to the severe weather that is expected he is advising everyone to carry a flask and a spade. If your stuck in snow you can have a nice hot drink while the spade pushes the car :lmao2:

I had a day at the landrover centre two weeks ago to see what the car do and a little lesson is going off road. Its was pretty good fun though I was frightened half to death when I was told -

"pres this button then let the car roll down the hill" I could not see over the edge having just 'crawled' up it I was VERY VERY scared about rolling over the edge.

Any how turn outs this button when pressed in the car the speed and a couple of other things are manged by the cars on board computer.

If it snows I dont think I will fancy going out in the motor, driven in snow once and like because I was told not to press the break I did, it was not long before the car was twisting and turning out of control.

We have a 4x4, Mini Cooper and a little sports car in the garage too so I couldn’t give a fuck if it snows because we have all bases covered. :)
