this is why the thread posted the other day asking whether the UK troops should be rmoved from Iraq is basically irrelevant...

Crude Designs: The Rip-Off of Iraq's Oil Wealth (http://www.carbonweb.org/crudedesigns.htm) reveals that current Iraqi oil policy will allocate the development of at least 64% of Iraq’s reserves to foreign oil companies. Iraq has the world’s third largest oil reserves.

They have the oil. We need the oil, we are going to get the oil.

no doubt. it's just nice to be proven right yet again. ;)

all these flaming posts calling you names and worse when you pointed out the only real reason, oil, 2 or 3 years ago. and Iraq is just the tip, Afghanistan was just as tactical move, and we will see a move on Iran, cos only then China is blocked from the Gulf and easy access to oil, when there will be one 'bar' from Israel over Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan under 'US and buddies' control.

That report is obviously bollocks, there isn't one word in it about liberating the poor people of Iraq and promoting democracy throughout the world!

Wow, I'd totally forgotten about WMD. When was the last time you heard a politician mention them? It's almost as if they wanted us to forget. Of course all right-thinking folk know that Iraq was stuffed to the gills with deadly WMD ready to launch at our cities within 45 minutes, we just never found them. Of course that doesn't mean they weren't there.

I reckon Bush & Blair wimped out on the WMD thing bigstyle. Christians have a 2000 year history of banging on about something there's no evidence for and you don't see the Daily Mirror publishing front page articles by John Pilger on the non-existence of God. I might go to Tesco tomorrow and look for a cream cracker with burnt bits in the shape of a VX gas warhead, that'll get things back on track...

I think after Fahrenheit 911 a lot of that stopped...not saying it was the *sole* cause we never hear about that now, but I think even though the movie didn't stop Bush getting reelected, it let enough people know the bullshit that goes on...and I think they sorta ditched the WMD excuse right around the time Bush got reelected hehe.
