This actually reminded me of http://www.internetseer.com/ just looked and they are still going. So there is another clue DVT, the link I just posted

thing is, if my sites go down the chaps at the host are there fixing the problem. so i hardly need to bother.

worst case and the server dies then i have a backup hardrive or somthing (well thats what they told me), which backs itself up every few hours or somthing.

I keep an eye on emails & traffic when away - but I've not had a holiday for 4years, maybe next year thinking about trying skiing
