after seeing chloe's thread about her first paysite, its something I have not done yet (not properly) and was wondering if there are any golden rules of thumb to follow, the must do's and don'ts. I know basically use the sponsors tools and content they have to offer...was wondering how many pages including a tour? I was thinking maybe 4 pages per paysite?
1. index page
2.tour page1
3.tourpage2
4.join page
any of you guys have a criteria you always follow?
If i create this much work for myself may need one of you guys to come round and break my other ankle so i get time off dayjob! lol :)
you plan on using sponsor tools and contentto build your own paysite?

or is it called something else? when you make a site using sponsors tools ect to build your own landing page, tour ect maybe better then then sponsors own site in some cases! thought thats what some people do? more control over what images are on the page ect? a kinda mini site version of the sponsor's site? thought that was a paysite?

that's building your own tour to sell memberships to a paysite.

Some sponsors do facilitate this. Oddly, it's called something like "Build your own tour" or "create your own tour"...

talking of mystery...I remember a site out there where all the links where a deliberate red "X" and the surfer had no idea what he would get until he clicked on it, not even any clues on mouseover in your browser....wondered how that fared...think it was a biggish site traffic wise at the time, talking quite a few years back though

and harvest your 404 and image traffic.
And your internal organs too, if you're really unlucky...
Also if you are making a paysite, or any site for that matter try to remember to close your directories http://www.sexyjodhpurs.com/jodhpurs/ :noway2:
what you on about, it's a take on the red x design he mentioned before.

Must be working well then cos I PMed him about it a couple of weeks ago about it. As its still open it must be working a treat :P

if you do not put an index page in a folder/directory then its open, like you have it now. All you need to do is stick an index.html, index.htm, index.php and its job done. What you decide to do with that index page is up to you and there are many things you can do.
Make a gallery, make a landing page, stick a php redirect, just have a page saying "fuck off bollocks you're a cunt" anything rather than leaving it open.
