what time do pubs close these days?

My mate hass gone to the pub.

I was going to phone him when he gets home, but not sure what time they close these days.

Its not a city center pub so i presume not a 24 hour one.

Yeah actually I forgot about all that stay open all night bollocks the last time I was in a pub, June the 6th by the way :geezer:

I suppose they have to know in advance so they can book the staff, if its quiet and they keep staff on they lose money, if its busy and they let all the staff go home they have no one to serve. I don't think it can be a spur of the moment type things. Actually maybe it can cos its the same as a "late one" used to be, lots wanting to stay, bar staf asked to stay for extra cash.

she has gone out now.

i am hoping it was that she was asking if i would pop over when she got home.

Pubs cannot by default open 24 hours and have to apply for a license to do so. A VERY small number of them have such a license. The 24 hour law is complete bollocks, when it came in I applied for an extension for my club and got 3am after a long fight, DNA samples and a promise never to call policemen tossers.........:dorsetpolice:
