think down the line, a year or two. in your opinion, what is most likely to have the worst impact on the adult biz? and what makes you think so?

AIDS. I think it's been underestimated already massively, and it amazes me how gobsmacked the adult industry as a whole was last year when two performers in the USA tested positive.

None of the above - It already happened some time ago - Companies such as ccbill not being harder on the larger programmes when their cb ratios were getting out of hand - Visa jumping in has killed sales ratios - I get up to 20 declines a day now - I never used to get that many in a month.

And the 2nd biggest impact on the adult industry only affected non usa webmasters - The sharp fall in the value of the dollar -

Of course, all new legislation will have some affects - The new 2257 will be a winner as far as I am concerned because I think we can make gains where usa webmasters can not -

i still see a major danger for non-US webmasters on the horizon. at some point US sites will not pay out - claiming you sent traffic through non-2257-compliant sites and therefor broke their ToS. it's too easy a way to make some extra money for them to not happen.

Thats exactly what will happen, I have no doubt about that

alas they don't seem to convert as well. on average, that is.

and an actual EURO sponsor that bills and pays out in EURO i have yet to see. so far all i found bill in US$ or base their EURO prices on the US$.

For me personally UK sponsors convert the best at the moment.

2257 is just going to be a pain, especially if the law suites fail.

.xxx? For $60USD each? That could be a good thing if used in the right way.

The thing I believe people are underestimating and will have the largest negative impact on the adult biz is perhaps the Christian Coalition.

That's really where these new regulations are coming from. All any of these church groups have to do is mention God or kids and people fall all over themselves to support whatever cause strikes their fancy at the time.

I was watching scrubs tonight, Dr Cox said that if they got rid of all the porn sites on the net they would be only one site left, and that would be called 'bring back the porn' :)

But seriously, xxx tld could be seriously bad for business if it becomes compulsary, plus it's another set of names we've gotta try and grab before the cyber squatters move in.... :comp:
