View Full Version : Wall-E
If you have kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, or indeed, no kids at all, take them and/or yourself to see WALL-E when it opens next Friday. It's just fantastic.
Saw it last Sunday at a free preview in Nottingham and it's one of the best animated films I've ever seen. In fact, it's one of the best films I've ever seen full stop. I've been fairly Pixar agnostic in the past - The Incredibles was good, never really liked the Toy Story movies - but this was just on a whole different level to anything they've done before.
However, I did cry at the end. Tried really, really fucking hard not to, but they got me. Bastards ;)

I've heard it called Pixar's E.T. - will probably check it out. I cried at E.T. but then I was only about 9. We'll see anyway...
Your kids might get free stickers too then. The girl at the door told me I could stick them on my lunch box...

I was about 9 when I cried during ET, but for slightly different reasons...
I remember being invited to a kids birthday party, and BIG thing about is was that we were going have a party tea, then go and watch ET...
TBH IIRC I didn't even really know or like the birthday boy himself... But because we were going to get to watch ET loads of us went along...
Anyway, we had the party food, kid blew out the candles on his cake etc, and just when it appeared it was time to go and get our coats to go to the cinema, the father proudly ushered us into the lounge, sat us all infront of a huge massive 24inch telly, and proceeded to put on the infamous pirated video version...
It was so poor, you couldn't even see the picture properly! Just 'snow' all over the screen and the sound kept cutting out too !
As I said... I cried... I really did !!! LOL
What a disappointment !
I might watch this, sounds good...I'll pop up to me local later tonight, the Chinese bloke's bound to have a copy by now ;)
(I'm bloody joking!)

Agreed. One of the best films of the year so far.
(I got a bit misty near the end there I must admit. What can I say?)
All the summer films so far have been outstanding... except for Narnia, which sucked. Hancock was just okay, but it had its moments.
WALL-E hit all the right notes. Great story! He kinda reminded me of a robotic Chaplin.
