View Full Version : Is there a facility on your CP to turn off sales
Hey got a quick question concerning webmasters who operate affiliate programs through Ccbill ! do you have a facility on your CP to turn off sales. Been promoting a program and it looks good without doubt this site should have converted a few sales as all the traffic is targeted and even other programs that i don't rate have made conversions. I find it hard to believe that this site has not had one single sale in the three months I've been promoting it
Every single sponsor on my site has converted at some time, yeah some convert a lot better than others but i think I'm being screwed. Its getting the same amount of traffic as the other sponsors and like i said ! its a program that in my eyes should convert better than some of the other site's I'm promoting
Cheers Bluey
I know there's an option to de-activate an affiliate without sending them notification - dunno what effect this would have on what they would see in their admin/stats...
Stats look normal ! must have hundreds off accounts and can't say i have ever seen one disabled or any indication they have been disabled ? is there any way of finding out or is it obvious in your stats when this happens anyone know
Cheers Bluey
You have to give CCBill a reason for "deactivating" a member and I'm sure CCBill would notify you if your account is closed by the site owner.
So you are getting clicks showing in the CCBill affiliate admin?

Yeah the stats show that there getting more hits than most ! since i gave them a full gallery page. That's why i was wondering if they could turn sales off. For some reason i have it in my head that i heard Sales could be switched off by the affiliate owner ?
Maybe its just me being paranoid and clearly their tour isn't doing the Biz. Guess its time to drop them. I have other programs that i used just as fillers so to speak and wasn't that concerned if they didn't really convert but they have produced conversions with less traffic and advertising space. Maybe its because there is a big price difference in the two programs ?
Not to worry ? but i do lol :)
share who doesn't convert for you?
on AWI a few years ago someone posted a screenshot with an explanation of how to shave a sale right from the CCBill backend and there have been similar comments on other boards, just without the screenshot.
that is not the only way to shave of course...they (any aff program) can also use scripts that every x uniques it changes the ref code that gets sent from the join page. i've seen threads from reliable people about this too, also with screenshots, and on more than one obvious board.
to me personally, its just something i accept at this point. the up-and-down-with-a-pattern conversions are like a slap in the face, but if the program whose site you're pushing ends up making you more money at the end of the day even WITH shaving, is it really important how much or how little you're being shaved?
i can tell you i've always done better with revshare, and much prefer to promote those sponsors....

Naaaaa not my style, ! Mainly do softcore so its not likely that you guys will be promoting them. they have a sister site that i use on another web site of mine and that converts, not great but does actually produce sales from time to time
Not a case of shaving, Zero signups lol yeah i have a few programs and I'm sure they shave but as you said some times you have to let things ride so to speak

i didn't see anything bad in sharing what doesn't convert for one, it's not like you hurl out accusations with it or anything. :)
I try to avoid slagging anyone or program off ! Seen it to many times where webmasters complain and get into pissing matches ! no one wins. Yeah if someone asked via private PM or good friends i would tell them that i didn't have much luck with that sponsor or thought they were possibly pulling a fast one. Some webmasters like to name and shame so to speak
Hey so the program didn't convert for me that doesn't mean its a bad program or the owners operators are pulling a fast one. My question was ! is there a facility to turn off sales ? from the response it doesn't look like there is. The fault could solely relate to my traffic and ad copy not being up to scratch
Time for my Saturday night Curry

Yes there is this facility but you would see this when you logged into your CCBill admin. Quite a few programs have been caught doing this so CCBill made all payouts, options and bonuses transparent for all affiliates to see after the Perfection Jeff problems earlier in the year.
Thank you SGS since i can't see anything untoward's in my stats clearly the fault is at my end

You should be able to see all of the details of the program in your admin there somewhere but its always a good idea to check the join page of the site from the tour that *you* are sending too as well.

The most common way ccbill webmasters use to cheat partners is by a simple trip -
Surfer goes to the index page as normal, but then the next page (eg tour1.html) is a trip page which no one would notice the flip to another -
And if eg this code is in the trip:
<meta http-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="1; URL=http://refer.ccbill.com/cgi-bin/clicks.cgi?CA=88888&PA=TRACKING CODE HERE&html=http://www.ccbillsite.com/tour1.htm">
No one would notice the flip and the programme would then gain all sales so long as the trip was in place -
The last cookie lodged is the one that counts, so the programme's own code takes the sale.
