Yep phpBB is a shitter, but it has years of posts and about 61/2k members, Id rather use something else, but not sure of anything I can import posts and members too.
Anyone got any ideas?

All of the message boards we used to run were all pre PHP and SQL. Time flies :)

basically any php/mysql thingie can be imported into another, if there isn't a tool out there already, some code monkey can easily knock one up. all he needs to know is the structure of the old and the new database, to avoid messing up fields.

A phpbb fourm can be imported into VB that exact change happened on the nochex fourm about a year ago, they moved from phpbb to vb to offer more powers to the mods/admin.
phpbb is more hackable then vb but according to chris at http://www.colo-cation.com/ phpbb is a more stable then vb.

I really wanted to use Invision, but if I cant, when Jay wakes up I'll get himn to have a poke around with VB and see what he can do :blush:

There is some right code geeks on the nochex forum man, i used to post alot on there but just don't have the time any more :(

I think both Invasion and VB have PHPBB import scripts
