Hiya all, i'm new to :bandb: !

Coming down to business.

I would like to start shooting my own content and build up a library over the next 18 months before i start a site (this part i know well)

I have no experience in photography nor handling a camera and need a few pointers ;)

first off i would need to buy a decent Camera & Video Cam, I know a slight bit about video cameras but not to much about photography.. I was looking at getting one of the latest Digital Canon EOS but not sure if its worth paying so much?

Suggestions would be nice.. also i would appreciate it greatly if any of you would post a few tips & pointers

If you're interested in photography, it'll be a fun learning curve but you need to expect that your first few attempts won't be up to much.

If you're not into photography, pay someone who knows what they're doing and save yourself a lot of time and money!

You might want to start doing a portrait photography course first - and buy a good, strong camera of which you make sure you know the ins and outs thoroughly before you start using it.

Good luck! Adult photography is not very easy!!

Just get a decent camera and a book about photography, will take a while to get good but with enough practice and some decent shoot locations, it shouldn't be too hard to get a self sufficient site started.

Ask someone in the industry that you think takes good pictures if you can assist them. Be a dogsbody. For free. Make tea. Whatever. And learn how they do it by watching. You can learn the basics of lightings, exposure etc and the tecnical bits from books or nightschool, but the trick is how to take good pornographic pictures. As I am sure Markham will soon tell you. In a really patronising and snide manner.

the question you have is what style of pics do you want to do.

my sites are amature so i get away with amater pics.

but if you want to have a site (say stockings), then you probably want quality.

it could be cheaper in the long run to have a photographer take the shots.

i say this as for quality shots you would probably be best to have a studio, lights decent camera, backdrops and so on.

you may think that you can do it on the cheap by getting a cheap digital camera, but people will tell the quality and you would get less sales.

Most professional photographers have an assistant, so why not get a free one that wishes to learn and admires your work?

I gave up reading the replies because it's got to the usual B&B BS with the kids coming in with snide remarks thinking they're being clever. Here's some advice that might help.

Firstly is what is the niche you are thinking of shooting. Some niches require a level of photography skills that others do not. How much do you know about the niche you want to shoot AS A CONSUMER OF THAT NICHE. Some niches are simple to learn and some are not.

If you're shooting females where and how do you expect to get them? Are you good at working with females in a porn environment. Because the relationship between you and the model WILL come out in the work.

There are some excellent threads on this board with different shooters debating the same points. Often both are right, they see the same coin. But from different sides it looks like two coins.

I have site that has some of the lessons I've learned over the years. JT can delete this if he thinks it breaks the rules.

Without knowing things like the niche, your skills as a pornographer and photographer and how and where you will get girls it's impossible to answer your original question. It's like this.

What kind, make, model, etc?
