Hey, I know a guy who promotes his site with little lineage ads in the local paper classifieds. But he sells general retail stuff and most regional rags don't have a livestock section, so bin that idea...

It's a good question DVT and one that everyone asks themselves. From the biggest to the smallest. The replies here say more about the poster than you. Here's a few pointers.
1) Convert better.
Obvious really, the more of an affiliates traffic you convert the more they will send you. Assuming they don't have to do any hard more work. They are in business to make the most money for the least amount of work. Like us sponsors.
Two ways you can do this, one is to give them more tools and promo material. Do you have a RSS feed for galleries, a picture of the day, a video of the day, 500 free hosted galleries and adding more every day, 400 image sets and 200 videos for them to use, embedded video, loads of banners and a mini freesite they can use to promote your site with? If not get working on it. Also a RSS feed for blogs is a good idea you should start writing one soon and giving it to affiliates. All this makes an affiliates life easier and more likely they will send you more hits.
Then you need to think through the niche you shoot. Amateur models are girls doing it for kicks, for the thrill and the sex. If you're not in the position of having sex with them by the end of the shoot they are not there for the reasons an amateur would be. I use this example to illustrate the fantasy in the surfers head. Not telling you to get more sex. It's telling you to work on your peoples skills when dealing with models.
Sadly most models are not amateurs, they are inexperienced girls doing it only for the money. They have no intentions of being what the surfer wants them the be. He wants a girl who will fuck for fun, they won't fuck for $500. In fact they are on guard and sceptical from the off. We shooters have to change them and turn them into the surfers fantasy. Playboy girl or Girl Next Door. They do not have a clue what to do, you need to know exactly what they have to do and have the skills to change them.
All shooters need to read a book on body language and consider some of the poses to use. I have seen ones many times that are wrong. Girls side ways on, looking at you out of the side of their eyes, lips closed, knuckles, elbows or knees pointed at the camera. Legs or arms crossed. And more. All wrong and none used by a woman trying to seduce a guy. It's no good for us to say this is the niche we are creating, when in truth we know it's the only thing our skills allow us to shoot. What sells is us filling the niche the surfer has in his head.
So this leads us to "What we Shoot." We all need to think it through from the surfers POV. What is he after, what's his fantasy and how do we fill it. Is it, some guy with a camera shooting a girl who could live in his street, she's doing it because she's a horny girl who wants some money and a fuck and not worried which one comes first. So long as she gets to fuck someone she will go home happy. Or is it, some guy shooting a naked girl who is only there for the money, she will fuck no one and not even that good looking.
Yes we need to know about the surfers fantasy before we pick up the camera. I know many surfers dream of being me and shooting hot willing horny teens, with the chance of sex afterwards. It's their fantasy and we fill it. In truth we know Eva shoots today and I can't be bothered. Yes she's sometimes a naughty girl, that's the job.
This is step one to getting more traffic.

You asked how to get more hits and in the past you have said you shoot amateur in an amateur way. So I took a look at this picture and will tell you in a constructive way what is wrong with it in the "Amateur model, amateur shooter" niche.

She's too rigid, there's nothing to show how relaxed, excited, thrilled or even friendly that shows in the picture. Here's some tips to put it right.
From the casting, never shoot a model without a casting for reasons too many to post here, tell her what her options are as a model in the business. Don't tell her what you you're going to be doing with her until she has told you what she is willing to do. It's mind games but it works.
Then tell her what style you will shoot it in and how she has to perform and feel to make it real. Modeling is partly acting and partly pulling something out from within the model. You need her to feel it's more about doing it for fun than doing it for money. WHEN SHE DOES IT.
When she arrives for the shoot tell her more about it, after you have greeted her, given her a cup of tea and told her to shower and put on a bathrobe. Your personality is warm, friendly and a bit of a clown, yet still conveying you're the boss, you know what you're doing and she can go home if she does not want to work your way.
To the shoot. Shoot her straight on, not to the side and if you are she is to turn her body to you. She does not look at you out of the side of her eyes, she is showing you her face and her body in a way to attract your attention. Her shoulders are back to show off her body, the hand is not in front of her body, the vibrator is not stuck on her hip like some meaningless prop. She's about to share with you her orgasm from using the vibrator, the vibrator is there to stimulate that thought in your head and she knows it. It's all subconscious for her and she can't help it.

This industry is in trouble because the buyers are turning off from us. One of the reasons is clueless people like Geezer have shaped what we do. "Why should I pay they're all the same and not worth it."
