There's a bloke called Sneezwort registered on there - so perhaps DV could login, have a listen and transcribe it for us? :noway2:

1,000 forms in, so if they all pay £900 that a nice little £900,000 for the BBFC already. Nice work if you can get it.

I have to say the interview was very well delivered.

Well done.

One question.

Where do we find out what this European law / statute or whatever it is correctly called contains?

It sounded like we need to have something in place by or during next January/Februay 2009 to comply.

Any links to it?

Thanks again,

C

I will give you a nice little logo for your site to say that you have legal porn if you send me £100!

I cant seem to find the interview. who said there were 1000 forms in?

I find that VERY hard to believe.. I imagine its propoganda to make you all think this is something you have to do..

This whole thing stinks, and one of your own is doing the shitting ..

For some reason looks like we cant link to it from here now

Why not out of interest as it is very imformative and that's what the board is about isn't it?

Helping each other etc etc..

Im not sure why sudenly everyone cares? Wasn't the time for caring before it was implimented?

We have over a year to talk about it and I didnt see anyone talking about it (apart from xcite and sgs) when we all knew it was comming, no one cared then?

Also what use is what some porn producer (who doesnt even run any sites) asks some bloke from bbfc, when this ends up being compulsery are you all hoping to use that in court of what you can do "Yes milord some porn producer said it will be OK" The BBFC text is written in black and white, I dont see anything that isnt clear or is open to interpretation.

This is my last post on the subject, I havn't listened to the interview and have no interest in it. I am certainly not interested in running my business on the back of it or more importantly risking my liberty on the back of it. After talking with various people over the past year, I have decided what I am going to do, luckily this came as no shock and we have all had a year to talk about and decide what we are going to do.

2009 will be an interesting year for travel agents

I found this and it took a while to come down and listenting to it now. Got to the bit where he said he can do nothing about me selling to UK citizens yet he believes the UK market will demand this less and less. :noway2:

What a great scheme. I think all UK sites should sign up to it now. :noway2:

Hi,

It is not the BBFC stuff that is of any major consequence to us.

Opt in or forget about it - that bit is easy.

As I posted earlier in this thread - it is the new European law that the UK have to implement next January / February that is of potential importance.

The law is already passed by the EU government and out there somewhere to read according to the BBFC internet solicitor.

The UK are being required to implement it. This has absolutely nothing to do with the BBFC or the video recordings act mob - it has come from the EU directly.

I just need to find it as this is the law that apparently.... and according to the guy from the BBFC, will enforce UK adult webmasters to make changes.

So can anyone shed any light on where to read what this EU law states.

Sorry for the delayeed reaction to this post but I had some difficutly gwetting back in from trying tp ost that link to the BBFC interview.

For your information I produce material for 5 sites. One of which being Real Couples.

I'd like to think my name means something having been in the business 15 years already. The fact you want to ignore the scheme is good. Just thought it would be good for you to know you can carry on your business as normal. Thats what the interview was really about.

As for Jerry Barnet being instrumental in making this legal I have never heard such crass misinformation but then if you heard the interview you would know that Strictly Broadband was one of a several companies used as testing ground for the new scheme.

In fact you should really be thanking Jerry because without the intervention and assistance of certain companies the outcome could have been a lot worse.

Where were you when R18 became legal? Dare i say David Sullivans name in vain but he was one of three names that spear headed the R18 becoming legal in this country. But I'll assume you knew that already. The reason i bring this up as we have come full circle again with this new scheme and its always people that are involved with these changes and the critics like yourself who are legion that are benefitting from it.

Give respect where it is due is what i say. Even if you dont like the people behind it.

Your name means nothing to me in terms of how I will run my business or more still how I will potentially guard my liberty

Where did I say I will ignore it? and if you dont mind, I will decide how and if the way I run my business needs to change. The bbfc guidlines are there for everyone to read. Im not quite sure what people don't understand.

Thanks OEJ. This episode has been an eye-opener in learning how stupid and gullible some people can be. About 18 months ago I started trying to alert webmasters to the likely changes which will be reshaping our business. People mostly told me I was talking crap. Now the changes are happening, the typical webmaster reaction has been to a) moan, b) blame me.

TBH it's been pretty funny to watch, and if people are too dumb to change with the times, then they deserve whatever hits them.

hmmm.... anyone else notice the discrepancy here? You are both in full agreement, but you say

people are too dumb to change with the times, then they deserve whatever hits them.

and you signed up and paid your money over. But OEJ says

Just thought it would be good for you to know you can carry on your business as normal

Glad to see the mutual agreeing and back rubbing, shame there is the little point of the fact you don't agree.

Unless you signed up for other reasons? Was it for charitable reasons? Will we be seeing you doing sponsored bike rides for the save the bbfc fund in the near future?

:)

Out of interest, how do you think hardcore porn became legal in the UK?

I heard they threatened to put the then Home Secretary on the stand so he could explain why it was banned. They being Dave S, Greg H and I think a Gold.
