any reason I shouldnt?
dont think the fuckers have dvd players or ftp software though so maybe that is reason enough not to get one.
Maybe I'll ask a sponsor to send me one, then if its shit I can throw the cunt away without feeling guilty. Is sgs still online? :reading:
That is the old one, hence it being cheap. New one has 1024x768.
The Eee 900 series dimensions are a little larger than the 70x models – measuring 225 × 165 × 35 mm (WxDxH) and weighing around 1 kg.[21] The machine has a multi-touch trackpad that allow two-finger scrolling and zooming via a "pinch" gesture[22] and is available in Linux and (in some markets) Windows XP configurations. The Linux version is called the EeePC 900 and comes with a 20 GB SSD, while the Windows XP version is called the EeePC 900 Win and has a 12 GB SSD.
Also, ftp software? You can install some. The linux app manager it comes with is good.
Or you can wipe it and put XP on it.

It's great for chucking in a bag, or wanking on the bog. Good for email and surfing, that's about it.
Saw those little fuckers at pc world a few weeks ago. Some look superb, but strike me as being nothing other than quite a flash "toy".

All I want it for is fixing sites when Im in proper countires and not wanting to take a lap top, also a dvd player would be nice for watching films

The thing that puts me off is that the screen is small.
While they are cheap, I would probably spend a few pounds more and get a dell laptop, and then have a big screen, and harddrive and such, or opt for a pda, as a pda screen is not all that smaller.

You always ask me to fix your sites when you're in proper countries.
Oh wait. I see your point.

I have a couple of dell laptops, but get fucked off taking abroad, for me this is bigger than my PDA and smaller than a laptop and so "maybe" is the best of both worlds. I dont want any bigger than 7" screen.
But these might not have the other bits and bobs I want, like a dvd player and enough space to run the software I want

yes maybe I'll just do that and buy you an alarm clock so you can get out of bed :geek:

Toys R Us products tend to be cheaper, not more expensive.

If its the one I am thinking of, it uses all low power coponents to save power. as such it has a small screen and i think it uses flash memory for a hard drive (as what you have in a camera).
Also not 100% sure it uses windows.
Its fine for serfing the web and a bit of word processing, for long periods due to low power consumption. But the downside is a very small low screen.
I would think it would not be easy to edit sites with it.
As I say for only a few more pounds, you could opt for a realy cheap dell. this way you get a proper harddrive and screen, and should get good battery power. plus you can still opt for xp or vista.
in truth its the tiny screen that puts me of most.

you can get small laptops or sub laptops, but these tend to be expensive.
Sony did (may still do) a small laptop. My mate had one and it was cool.
One thought would be to get an old one off ebay. you can get them for £100 or less. while it will be xp and slow, it would probably be ideal to edit sites on.
But as Isay, before you get one, make sure that it runs the operating system you need, as I have a feeling its unix.
But I do not think it will run a dvd player. these machines were built to save power. i think they were developed for such as africa.
I am not sure they are designed to add lots of softwear, rather what comes with it.
they seem to be ideal student pc's. ie for doing your course work and serfing the web.

Get a macbook ;) That thing looks a bit old looking? Your eyesight will be going soon so you won't be able to see the screen
Muahahah :D

They use Linux which is quite a nice operating system

Obviously not seen the difference between a dirt box (bown) and a juicy slippery pussy (pink).
I was just looking to buy one of these the other day and you'll be hard pressed to find one at a cheap price as most stores have sold out!!!
The Asus Eee PC 4G 701 got rave reviews everywhere. Here is a very detailed rundown from Trusted Reviews (http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2007/10/30/Asus-Eee-PC-4G-701/p1). It has several usb ports so you can add peripherals, etc. Here is the review for the Asus Eee PC 900 with XP (there is also a Linux version). This one has a better screen (less scrolling) and bigger RAM - Trusted Reviews (http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2008/04/16/Asus-Eee-PC-900/p1). It is the nuts if you want a lightweight laptop, wifi enabled, for when you are traveling, etc. Though it may look like a toy, it's very robust according to the review.
I'm definitely getting one of these as soon as they are back in the stores at the lower price.

That looks much better, if that had a dvd player on it I would have one of the fuckers
Unfortunately the 900 version is only black or white (not pink). I've been wanting one of these for a while -- I saw one in action a few days back, and they're quite nifty.
I'll probably go for the 701 / 4G version because of the colour selection (haven't decided between pink or light green yet). Also, it's much cheaper, and since I'll be using Linux on it, I can live with not having so much storage. Won't be any good for porn work though. :velma:
Should fit nicely in a hand bag as well. :cheer:

Have you actually used it for more than 5 mins? You really have to scroll around websites as the screen is such a shit resolution...
Just warning!
