so M$ releases a list of old games that can be played on the xbox360 as well.

fine one could think, if you own a PS2, you can play any PS1 game you wish, same will be with the PS3, any old PS2 or PS1 game will run.

so xbox users are a tad limited.

a tad? nah, a lot.

a fucking software emulator is required for each original xbox game you play on your xbox360 (assuming it's supported to begin with). where is the emulator stored? on the HDD that comes with the premium version of the xbox!

so either fork out more money than needed, or be fucked up your arse and loose out on all your old games.

I can see this being really useful for many people, but it should at least be optional.

Ignore Vista until 2008 (http://news.zdnet.co.uk/software/0,39020381,39236741,00.htm)

personally i'll prolly use Vista as final reason to make the step to Linux on desktop systems as well.

Now as much as I am a ps2 person rather than xbox i saw the xbox360 in game the other day and the graphics are pretty immense. I cant wait to see what the ps3 will have up its sleeve!

i thought there was no systems out there yet?

there's no doubt the PS3 will beat the xbox360 hands down. unlike its rival it's not just overpriced recycled outdated PC technology stuffed i na fancy box but hardware designed for the purpose.

buy the premiume 360 which comes wifi'd enabled, will allow you to pause / record from the telly - basically the 360's are media centres - I think Sony and Nintendo may as well give up on the console market gates is taking it the right way :)

the ps3 is gonna piss all over the 360... it's predicted that ms will have a very brief glory period with the 'best' console until sony release theirs... still gonna buy meself one tho .. :blush:

I wont be upgrading not just yet.........though no doubt I will see one on a shelf while xmas shopping and will grab it :eyebrows: thats normally how I end up buying electrical goods.

i much prefer the xbox over the PS2 (i have both) but to be honest i haven't seen a game in ages that would make me buy a new console, the last good game i got was burnout 2 (3 was crap)

usually what happens with me and consoles is that i buy it, play it obsessively for two weeks, and then almost never touch it unless a game i'm interested in comes out (which is rare...i'm picky w video games hehe).

I think I will buy xbox360, play it a bit, and then when PS3 comes out, sell the xbox on ebay to buy the PS3.

and rogue there is no way burnout3 is crap, i will give you that 2 was cooler when it first came out, but 3 was still incredibly fun.
