Okay, this has been annoying me for a while.

I am currently on a link building quest and so far am doing very well. One of the things I did was use SEO spyglass to see who was linking to my competitors and thereby get a nice list of sites that may link to us.

Here is my question:

One of our competitors does not have any links pages and yet many of the sites they have links coming in from will only do reciprocal linking. How on earth does our competitor manage to get links from a site demanding reciprocal when they do not have the reciprocal link in place?

maybe your competitor owns the sites without backlinks.

ie i run 15 sites 2 of them have no recip links to the other 13 sites or any external sites but the other 13 sites link to the 2 sites with no recips.
